You can bring your own food and drinks to Camden Yards, which I do. Who the hell is paying 6 bucks for a hot dog...not me.

Used to take sandwiches into Shea all the time...were also allowed to take water/soda/etc. in as long as you took the cap off before entering. Not sure if you can do that at Citi Field, but then again I'm content getting a burger from Shake Shack. Crazy delicious.

Usually bring a Primos hoagie to Phillies games and get the popular item from each new stadium I visit.

Never been to Fenway but been to a bunch of Pawtucket Paw Sox games (minor league team) and they allow drinks to be brought in.
Not 100% sure but I believe food can be brought if you bring kids to the game or pets. |

You used to be able to bring opened water bottles into Fenway, but that changed after the car bombing attempt in NYC.

Mike Cameron retires rather than reporting to Nationals camp.
Was always a fan of his during his 2 year tenure with the Mets. His strikeouts got to be infuriating, but he was a great fielder and had some nice pop. His outfield collision with Beltran is still one of the nastiest baseball injuries I've seen. |

Ugh Mike Cameron.
![]() The Reds traded Paul Konerko to get him, then traded him away to get Griffey. |

Here's Cameron's 4 home run game with 2002, complete with Hawk Harrelson proving why he is the worst announcer in sports. How anybody can be that surly about a 4 home run game is beyond me.

It's official. Pirates aquire A.J. Burnett from the Yankees. Everyone passed their physicals and Selig approved it.

The Mets are discussing the best way to honor Gary Carter this year. Many are calling for the team to formally retire #8, as it's been taken out of circulation since he got inducted into the HOF. There was some outrage when they didn't retire it last year when news of his cancer came out and everybody feared that if they didn't do a ceremony for him, it'd be too late.
Not trying to sound insensitive...but while Gary was a great on-field leader, his numbers as a Met simply weren't all that good. As it is, Seaver's the only Met to have his number retired based on on-field merit. Besides him you have Stengel's #37 (retired only because he was the first manager) and Hodges' #14 (manager of the '69 championship team, and only then the only reason it got retired is because he died suddenly while still Mets manager). If Carter's #8 goes up, I think Keith Hernandez' #17 deserves to go up just as much, if not more. I think/hope that Piazza's #31 is going to go up as soon as he gets into the HOF...so it'll at least be another Met getting his number retired based on actual numbers. Dunno though. The organization in general has been very reluctant to retire numbers. |

Did they change the punishments again since I thought its 100 days for a 2nd penalty?
He already served a 50 games with the Dodger, then got caught again and decided to retire instead of a 100 game suspension. |

Dunno why the A's would take ABs away from their young hitters for Manny. They already have clusterfucks at 1B and OF.

Mariano pretty much all but said he's done at the end of the season. Not surprising since he's 42, but still kinda surreal to think this is his last season.

On MLB Network they said that if Rivera has, in fact, decided he's going to retire...he should announce it before camp breaks simply so that the fans across baseball can give him a sendoff when the Yankees roll into town. Very few guys in baseball history have been afforded such an honor.

I think there is no debate that he is the greatest closer, and in turn, relief pitcher in MLB history.
Hoffman is the only one close IMHO over a career, and I think he is over-rated. |

Red Sox get Chris Carpenter and a PTBNL as comp for Theo.
I liked Chris Carpenter. Could be a closer if he develops a secondary pitch and can control his 99 MPH fastball. Still has some work to do, but thats not a bad prospect for the Red Sox to get when you consider what the Cubs gave to the Twins for Andy McPhail back in the day (cash, and their 31st ranked prospect). Not sure whos a fan of what team here, but what are yalls thoughs? |

Less than 2 weeks til the Grapefruit League opener. Pretty much impossible for me to not get excited about it after the news that Santana is slated to start it, keeping him on track for Opening Day. His bullpen sessions have looked good, and mechanically he's looking like the Johan of old.
Cannot describe how much of a morale boost it'd be to see Santana out there to start the year. He's been such a forgotten guy with the recent pitching explosion in baseball. If he even remotely resembles his old self, it'll be a huge upgrade to the rotation from last year. Keeping my fingers crossed that he'll feel good throughout the spring. |

Eric Wedge announced that Ichiro will bat third this year. Now that he doesn't have to restrain his full power anymore, he's clearly going to break Barry Bonds' HR record.

Should have been #28 and done on April Fools Day. |
