I don't even think he needed to win the title. The direction they've gone with the title is fine. Jobbing him out for almost half a year consecutively though is just a ridiculous example of WWE having no fucking clue how to build a new star.

That's what happens though when you book yourself in a corner. They put him in a world title match on a ppv straight out of squashing jobbers, and they had no intention of taking the belt off Punk, and with the Rock coming and Cena recovering they basically shot their load for one PPV. It was ridiculous. Then you have him job to a group of guys who are U.S Title contenders at best.
