First, you have Moolah. All the old-school guys like Corny and Bruce still won't acknowledge what she did, even though they're definitely well aware. You have commentators with the inside jokes in the 80s about "Terry Garvin's school of self defense." The Mel Phillips stuff and the Pat Patterson rumors. Grizzly Smith was a sexual predator, and people still talk about him glowingly unless they're Jake Roberts.

At the end of the day, if the casting couch stuff happened in Hollywood, how could it NOT be a thing in wrestling -- which has always proved seedier.
All of this makes me think of two things:

1) Cornette alluded to a "rat" story once where he said that "If the social media were around back then, all of Crockett - except Flair - would have been in trouble!" To which Brian Last responded: "... except Flair?" in disbelief. Corny said: "Yeah. Because Ric had a different piece of business."

2) A bit more contemporary, something Awesome Kong said on a shoot interview about the heirarchy in Japan in that there were a lot of girls over there who were "gay for the stay", with heavy implication of girls being taken advantage of (willingly or otherwise) due to the senpai/kohai system: you do what the vet wants you to do. Funny how nothing really ever came out about that, or any other egregious stories about girls being creepers and/or being full on Moolah-esque pimps.
