Anderson Silva vs. Brock Lesnar
Would a fight featuring Anderson Silva and Brock Lesnar make sense?

On the surface, Silva vs. Lesnar makes sense because both fighters are just so dominant at the moment, but the fact remains that the heavyweight walks around at 285 while the Spider walks around at 215.

Regardless of the outcome, this would equal money for everyone involved, and the winner would be given some props. My prediction would be Silva by decision. I really hope the UFC can make this fight happen.

Silva provided that Lesnar doesn't get his hands on him. Lesnar gets his hands on him, I don't know if his ground game is good enough for a guy who likes to beat you in the face with the fire hydrants he calls fists.

If this fight happened, it would probably be a catch weight fight with no titles involved. Also, Silva has notoriously had a rough time with wrestlers. If Brock got him down, which I think he would because Silva most likely wouldn't be strong enough to stuff such a shot from a monster, Lesnar would eventually out muscle him to a victory. Just my thoughts.

However, if Silva was too quick for Lesnar to shoot on, got his strikes in quickly, and evaded most of Brock's offense, he could probably do it. Also, the Silva "crazy strikes" that are hard to scout could come into play and be trouble for Brock.

My gut says Brock though.

He obviously has a good chin, so unless he ate a brutal knee going for the takedown, I don't think he'd have a problem getting the fight to the ground. From there, it'd probably be over.

I dont wanna say great chin but I dont see The Spider overcomming that much of a size diffrence. Plus, I think Silva is more around 190ish at most nowadays.



I think a more fair question would be could GSP untangle the web of The Spider?

Yes and no. As much as I think Lesnar is a stud and can somewhat take a punch, Carwin had awful striking accuracy in that fight and only hit a handful of punches flush, and of those, many of them were after he was pretty tired. I don't think Lesnar's chin has truly "run the gaunlet" yet.

At this point, are we splitting hairs? Lesnar caught a lights out uppercut that had his ass on the run. If that uppercut hit ANY OTHER FIGHTER, they'd have crumpled. We've seen it before.

Herring Couture Mir Carwin Velasquez is the "real test" for Brock Lesnar.

It would be heavyweight. Lesnar can only fight at heavyweight, anderson can make the heavyweight range (but nowhere near the weight of Lesnar).

Considering Heavyweight ranges from 206/207 up to 265 theres really no need for a catchweight. Especially considering the only way that the two of them would be able to reach the same weight would be to amputate one of Lesnar legs

I remember reading rumours/reports/posts (can't remember) where people were saying Silva was bored with the competition in his weight class. I told my MMA pal at work about this and said IMO they should just book him in a non-title fight against Brock Lesnar if he wants some competition.

But I would like to see Silva face GSP first. That would be a sweet fight. Silva would have to drop weight though right? I dunno where he's at at the moment.

GSP and Silva could fight at a catchweight of 180 or something, otherwise GSP could probably go up to 185.

Most fighter who weight around 165-170 fight at 155.

and I think that was Corey Hills natual body weight, on TUF 5 I think they said he was walking around at 163 or something.

He's too tall for it to be healthy, tho. All of the tall, super skinny guys I know irl have crazy health problems. He should make an effort to put on more weight so he doesn't get really sick/suffer more injuries. I know lots of guys cut down, but it's easier if you're only giving up some fat and non-essential muscle mass.

I'm worried he's gonna get seriously ill.
