Goldust's "Curtian Call" finisher
I remember reading an issue of Raw about superstars finishers and it was talking about Goldust's "Curtian Call". They said how it use to be a "lame lifting reverse DDT" untill he changed it to a scoop neckbreaker. My question is when did he change it? I remember the first one and when he used the snap powerslam durring the TERRIBLE turrets angle but when did he, as Goldust, ever use the scoop neckbreaker amd call it the Curtian Call? Maybe a video of a match where he used it would be helpful too.

I liked the finisher where he set them up on the turnbuckle, then kicked them in the nuts... shattered dreams was it?

I've never seen the original. I didn't even know it was changed. The neckbreaker's all I knew.

I'm sure it was Shattered Dreams originally but I think I heard commentery say something about "golden globes" when he did it during his most recent WWE run. Not sure if it was a joke or a renaming.

The original Curtain Call was what D-Von used as his finisher, Shattered Dreams was the turnbuckle ball kick.

Yeah, didn't El Samarai come up with that one? Or was it created by someone else?

"Golden Globes" was the term to reference Goldust's testicles.

The only time I saw Goldust use the neckbreaker is when he re-debuted against Rob Van Dam. After that, he went back to the original.

The first finisher he used was a Gourdbuster (fall forward suplex).

Yeah, that second video was what he used as his finish during most of his first run, aka The Curtain Call.
Can't remember any scoop neckbreaker but whatever it was, it wasn't the "Curtain Call". |

Oh, no I do remember him using a neckbreaker. It was just a 'Rude Awakening' basically. Don't think it ever had a name, don't really remember it being his finisher either.

When did he use it?
Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, he did use something like the Rude Awakening. But as CAC said, it was never used as his finisher officially, but maybe used once or twice to finish a match. Last edited by Xero; 09-06-2008 at 10:08 PM. |

Goldust used to do The Curtain Call as we all remember it (the elevated reverse DDT type move) for pretty much the majority of his career, but when he returned to the WWE in 2002, he changed The Curtain Call to a neckbreaker (JR used to call it The Curtain Call). Then, I believe, The Curtain Call went back to being reverse brainbuster type move, and the neckbreaker became "The Director's Cut."
Goldust did used to do a snap powerslam move to finish when he had the tourette's shtick added to his gimmick, but I think they called that The Shock Treatment. He also did a DDT to finish occasionally on Heat, but I don't think that ever had a name. The Shattered Dreams did become The Golden Globes officially (I believe) during his face stuff on Heat. I may be wrong in the timelines and stuff a little, but I think I remember most of that. |

To suggest Goldust had a finisher after his return in 2002 is to suggest that Goldust actually won matches during that run, and that's just not right.

That's when he became real popular with Booker T and won the Hardcore title numerous times. Then again didnt Godfather's hoe #3 win the title too.
