So was he a bug in my game and his mission just didn't work or was he supposed to be "cryptic"?

BTW, I just claimed 7 free cheats from the R* Social Club. Log in, go to RDR section and you can claim them.
They aren't great cheats but, still, free cheats.

He's kinda cryptic. It's just he should give you a mission while being cryptic.

I randomly found him this morning after reading about him last night. I was going for a Bollard Gang bounty, so I didn't follow up the mission yet. i've been told it continues on, though....

Damn game. I caught and broke a nice looking black horse in the wild - two minutes later it wandered onto the railway line and got splattered by a passing train while I was skinning a carcass.

This game is extremely fun. This game along with Fallout 3 set the new standard for next gen games.

For open-world games, and even then Red Dead is essentially a Wild West GTA4 that corrected some multiplayer issues. Fallout 3 is similarly a post-apocalyptic Oblivion with enhancements. While both games benefit from modern tech, neither is really 'next-gen'. I can say Red Dead is a testament to how far gaming has come along. Fucking love it. Don't think anybody's gonna touch that in a while, unless it's R* themselves with the eventual GTA5.

I guess next-gen is technically *this gen* since the new systems have been out for over 3 years now. But yeah, for me these two games are two of the best/most fun open world games so far.

Never got into Fallout 3 (or Oblivion). Something about the style kept turning me off. Fable 3 does a better job keeping my attention.

Once you catch and break a horse in the wild you can then purchase it in the General Store. Pretty useful having a horses deed to, as I've been through about 5 of my Kentucky Saddlers so far.

Has anyone checked out the mounts that you get later on in multiplayer? It looks like you can get a bull and a couple types of Bison to ride.

I don't know how I feel about hardcore yet. It seems like its just who sidestep better wins. It becomes a strafe-off.

Yeah, fuck hardcore. He who sees you first gets the lock-on and advantage, I'm comfortable with that now. The FPS controls while aiming doesn't jive with the 3rd person design.
