Survivor Series 1999 question

Was Austin unable to wrestle one last match before having neck surgery? If so why was the triple threat match between him, Rock and HHH still advertised all the way till halfway through the show when Austin was hit by that car?

Because that's what happened, man. Austin was going to wrestle, but he was hit by that car, which obviously put him out of action.

It was done for The Rock.

WWE wanted the money...too bad, a triple threat with the three of them would have been a great match even by Bret Hart's standards.

I don't know, Bret wouldn't have been too impressed by Triple H's performance in that triple threat.

Why was it still advertised until then? Because that's the way they decided to book around his injury and have him off the road while he had surgery and recovered. Pretty straight forward when you think about it.

Yeah. It's called an angle.

What did you expect them to do? To go like "Austin is no longer in this match. You know, just in case something happens to him. Nothing has happened, but just in case he was to, I don't know, get injured or something due to being run over"?

Not sure why that match was never done again they were the big 3 in the Attitude Era and could have gone down as one of the best matches ever.

what, they knew for some time beforehand Austin was hurt and would be having the surgery. They could have run the angle at any opportunity before the show

It's got more of a "shock factor" when it happens during the show.

At the time, I expected that match to be the biggest bout of all time! I was a very disappointed 10 year old at the time. It also led to quite possibly the most insignificant and lackluster championship run of all time by Big Show.

I did enjoy the whole "Car accident" angle though.

Well, at least a IWC legend.

But at least Rey's run had meaning...Eddie Guerrero and all. Mysterio lasted over an hour in the Rumble en route to winning the championship. All Big Show did was whine about his "father" while getting bullied by a 45 yr. old Ray Traylor, only to look like a bitch to to HHH when dropping the title. Then,he ALMOST wins the royal rumble, cuts his hair..and is begging HHH(the same that beat him 3 weeks prior to the rumble) to overturn the decision. Show was such a little bitch at this time lol
