Repairing Xbox 360 discs

My disc for NHL 08 has a couple of slight disconnected scratches near the outer perimiter of the disc, not the common ring near the inside. I bought the game used like a month ago off eBay. When I try to play a game, sometimes it gets to the loading screen just before the game starts and just freezes. Other times I am able to play a few games consecutively with no issues. Anyone have any idea if there is any way to repair the minor scratches?
