Help me get my girlfriend into The Wire

My girlfriend has pretty good tastes. She loved Battle star Galactica, True blood, and even shows like NCIS. She likes all the shit i like most of the time and introduces me to awesome stuff all the time. For some reason, however, she just doesn't think the wire will interest her. I'm like "cmon it's supposed to be the best show on tv according to some" she likes a lot of crime shows and stuff like deadwood, and from what i've watched (5 eps) I think she'd love it. However, in order to get her into it, please tell her some reasons here it is the best show on TV or at least really awesome.
