I wouldn't be surprised.

Think they are thinking right now..'fuck the comic fans, fuck the decent action/comic film fans, let's cash in on the whole emo, tweenage/teenage target audiences by using a star of said audiences by mixing him into a story with a character we can adapt and modify for all the wrong reasons to the right people'.
