Michael Cole needed/needs a legit face turn...

Watching Raw and the interaction between the two just feels odd and distracting. I thought about this a few times during the feud but as heated as the feud was "Cole loses then apologizes" just doesn't wrap it up right. Hearing Cole laugh at Lawler's jokes while they act friendly for the most part just doesn't seem genuine.

It's an odd situation. Most feuds can just kinda end and we move on. But other feuds don't require the two to interact weekly afterward like this.

I'm thinking Lawler needed to not accept the apology and for Cole to keep trying to get it. Then one of the lesser used heels picks a fight with Lawler over something leading to a one-off match. During the match, the heel goes to use a chair on Lawler and Cole makes the save.

I mean, they aren't gonna continue with Cole's heel character it would appear. At least that would have put a nice, neat little end to the tension as opposed to "I'm sorry" and Cole laughing at Lawler's jokes like they suddenly like each other.
