Just two weeks after Ring of Honor made its debut on HD Net, Time-Warner Cable will likely be dropping the HD Net family of channels (including HD Net and HD Net Movies).
The cable company serves 13.4 million basic cable subscribers and 7.3 million Digital cable subscribers according to Wikipedia.
Ring of Honor, unfortunately, this is a huge blow for the company.
It is unclear at this point if the entire cable system is dropping HD Net or if it is limited to just a few markets including New York City.
Time-Warner Cable's New York City website has posted the following message:
On or about March 31, 2009, in the event we are required to cease carriage of HD Net, ch. 798 and HD Net Movies, ch. 797, we plan to launch Smithsonian HD and MAV TV
HD in their respective places.
According to PWInsider whether or not all affiliates drop the Mark Cuban owned HD Net channels is a corporate decision.
We will have more information as it becomes available.
