Agreed.
Otunga's got a great personality, but his in-ring work isn't there yet.
Gabriel's a tremendous flier, but he doesn't have much personality.
Slater's a decent all-rounder, but doesn't have anything that defines him.
Tarver is way too green (although he's got a great look).
Sheffield is a decent big man, but has the most annoying mannerisms I've seen in years.
And Young... well, he looks like black Cena. That's about all I know about him.

Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett are there. They are ready. They could have been brought straight to the main roster and had their spots given to guys like Johnny Curtis and Joe Hennig.

Yeah, but who do you look for next 'seasons' NXT if you bring those guys up instead.

Tarver has huge potential to me. Seriously. He needs work, obviously but he could be the next Taz tye gimmick. He's got a solid base, could be good for suplexes, but even beyond that, he has a look that just screams "big fight" and he's got his fathers lineage. Even without headlining he could be your serious fight guy like a Taz, like a Vader, like a Brock Lesnar.

Johnny Prime - Use the footage from a year or so ago when Cena saved Prime from the Conglomerate and introduce Cena as his mentor.

Alex Riley - The Miz would have been a perfect mentor for him, but I'd rather not recycle people, so maybe somebody like Shelton Benjamin, playing up their similar collegiate backgrounds.

Bo and Duke Rotundo - Cryme Tyme takes their fellow fun-loving tag team under their wing

Alberto Banderas - Chavo Guerrero?

Titus O'Neil - MVP?

Jimmy and Jules Uso - Legacy?

That's just based on guys who are in development now. Focus on the tag division with the Rotundos and the Usos, both sets of second-generation workers. Otunga and Young didn't spend much time in FCW before getting the NXT call-up, so there's a distinct possibility there will be a couple of better candidates that slide in in the meantime.

Don't get me wrong, I totally get why they put Bryan and Barrett on NXT. It gives them breakout stars to prove that the show works, plus it lets them get the rub from Miz and Jericho. I'm just saying that - if there were no NXT - those two would have made the leap pretty easily themselves.

The name Low Ki makes him sound lame and kinda like the dork at the party who eyes up the hot girl all night, tries to smell her hair, gets slapped and ends up drunk in bed at midnight jacking off over the image of his sister and dad kissing
