I get why they do it, they dont need to give anyone free publicity, they gave a nod to ECW on occasion when they brought in talent from there but they were never really competition. TNA tends to put over other promotions, especially foreign, because they have a working relationship with them, but i think it adds credibility when they can bring a guy in and acknowledge that he's wrestled elsewhere and held championships rather than just suddenly existing because hes under WWE contract.

They have to do that though, they are a a lower company in the reality of the wrestling world, so saying someone is a former WWE, ECW, NJPW, etc.. champion brings credibility to them being in TNA because those titles probably have more prestige then the TNA world title (something TNA needs, credibility). WWE doesn't need to do that as much as a guy just being there kinda gives him a bit of credibility and no titles in North America are as prestigious as the WWE titles in the eyes of the Casual Fans
