Some Thoughts and Questions for Gertner

I caught a bit of ROH's cable show while I was sick and though I had some reasonably high hopes I have to admit I came away pretty underwhelmed. What sucks is that a lot of the ideas I myself thought would work years ago have shown to be the ones that don't work at all for me now.

Treating wrestling as a legitimate sport in kayfabe in theory seemed like it would be a good idea, but in practice in comes off as very boring and stale. It zaps what little charisma guys like Shelton Benjamin/Haas did have completely and generally I thought Cornette came off as way too boring. The closest thing that I saw to a colorful character was Truth Martini and I didn't care for him at all.

Also didn't enjoy the matches with two guys no-selling everything. There was a definite lack of story telling in the product and that surprises me with Cornette in charge.

As for Smackdown, I can't get back into it no matter how hard I try. I followed it long enough to think that Mark Henry and Big Show were literally the only guys on the roster that could be champion aside from Orton and that made me really sad.

I think Raw is actually pretty fun whenever I get a chance to watch. It's also got my favorite guys at the moment, CM Punk, Miz and Triple H (in his wrestling non-wrestler role).

Now, onto my questions for Gertner:

Q1: On the subject of Kaval: Do you think he had enough charisma to have been entertaining in the WWE?

Q2: What famous wrestlers from ECW, WCW and the WWE have contributed to what is wrong with indie wrestling today?

Q3: Has your opinion of Daniel Bryan changed at all?

Q4: What wrestler are you currently big on?

Q5: What show is currently the most entertaining?

Q6: Who do you think is going to die next?

It's time to make TPWW MEAT again!

Quote:
Unlike traditional grills which cook food from a single, direct heat source, the Pit Barrel® Cooker’s cylindrical shape and “Hook-and-Hang” method places the food in the center of the action, heating the meat from all sides at once, producing consistently great-tasting, perfectly cooked meat every time.

Also have some popcorn.
