Wrestlers Who You Just Don't "Get"

I enjoyed them all but Benoit, Edge, Christian, RVD, Scott Steiner and Booker T are all guys that I didn't get as main event players. They all seemed and were definitely solid mid to upper card guys but I never felt like they belonged completely in the main event scene. They each seemed to lack a certain something, that certain charisma or star power that at least one main event guy needs in a feud of that level. Kind of similar to Roman Reigns currently.

Not trying to be an ass, just giving my opinion on these guys.

Benoit: I got it with him. The dude had a "I'm the best technical wrestler in the world" charisma, and if you had good taste in professional wrestling, then you secretly knew he was the best the industry had. He wasn't the pop-star, he was the best orchestra in the world. After his awesome rise in 2004, I would have liked to have seen him enter into a more vicious rivalry with Randy Orton eventually. Maybe he was never going to be "the guy," but I think a heel turn later down the line would have given him an intriguing run as the technical machine.

Christian: Around 2005 people were BEGGING for this guy to get more attention. Was this a response to the WWE fucking up Benoit and Eddie and trying to be trendy? Maybe. When they did give him main event shots, it felt weird. But Christian was always on the rise and fans were ready to see him actually be given a good shot. He felt out of place more than he should have, in my opinion. There was a presentation problem with the seriousness of how Christian was treated. I think he should have been given MORE of a top reign to see if it would have worked before I think you can write him off as a guy that shouldn't have been there.

Scott Steiner: I wasn't really familiar with this guy in WCW. When I saw him, he seemed like a complete fucking jerk, which I guess is him playing the character well. Roided up Scott is someone that I don't want to see in the ring. He just looks like he should break. Dude is a legend though. He's got your perennial top professional wrestler personality. Can't argue with him as a top guy. WWE presenting him as a babyface for so long was what damaged him in that company. Dude should have been a dick and fucked Stephanie in front of Triple H (kayfabe).

Booker T: Felt the buzz about this guy when he first showed up in the WWE. I've never enjoyed a heel run from this guy outside of King Booker. Maybe he didn't have the versatility to be a top guy for too long, or maybe some got accustomed to seeing him in the mid-card that it didn't seem like he belonged in the main event, but I got the vibe that Booker was a star when I saw him.
