The story in HBK/Taker was classic, and it definitely deserves a place in an individual match Hall of Fame, if there ever was one. But Taker/Mankind is also a classic, and definitely sticks out in the mind. I just can't believe how much punishment Foley took in that one. But Triple H/Cactus and the Armageddon ones were both great and fun (in the later's case), respectively.
I remember the Lesnar/Undertaker one being awesome, too. Beyond Edge/Taker, though, I can't think of a modern one that really deserved the status of the match. I really think the WWE should put it on hold until two guys hate each other enough to warrant it. |

The Taker/Mankind Hell in a Cell is definitely a classic, but it wasn't a MATCH, it was more of "Mankind hitting some crazy spots". There were only a couple of minutes of actual wrestling, everything else was "Mankind gets thrown off the cage and through a table", "Mankind gets chokeslammed onto some thumbtacks", "Mankind falls through the cage"...
...so, HBK/Taker is the best, for me. |
