No way I would have paid 500$ for that. At least we got it free. Seriously, it looks like it's gonna be the worst of all three consoles, and the games and accesories are really expensive.

The contest was called "first to play" so I got it one week before it came out. They gave us Kameo with it, even though they were suppose to give Madden or Need for Speed. It didn't scratch up any games yet.

We're trying to play one of the games on the compatibility list, but it still will not work after the system update. On XBox.com, they talk about an emulator update different than the system update, but they don't give any link. Would any of you happen to have that link?

I cant believe that they still plan on making new X-box (not 360) games well into 2006. During the last generation shift, they completely halted the production of games from the previous generation.

Compare the huge leap in gameplay and graphics between N64 and Gamecube, and X-box and X-box 360...does it seem like its plateauing to anyone else?

Ok it's late but I couldn't help it: the graphical complaints are bullshit, I'm surprised people didn't piss their pants when seeing it, hell I was even amazed and I am so far from a graphics whore it's not even funny and yes that is while using a standard tv despite what people say. I've only played Halo 2 on it and it looks better than on the original Box, I think my brother downloaded some update or something(it's called X-Box Live: use it) but the remarks I've seen of it not being backwards compatible aren't anything new, never have I played a PS1 game on the PS2 and not gotten a disc read error everytime I put in a PS2 game afterwards and that's when the PS1 games work in it at all. It does get loud and the games do get hot sometimes but after being on sometimes 12 hours at a time then I would worry if it didn't and the freezing is nothing new(only has happened a time or two) and that has been when a screen is being switched very quickly and really it's all expected with this first round of consoles.

That comment about the stuff being more expensive doesn't make any sense as the controllers are only slightly more and they can turn the console on/off for god sakes, if that isn't worth the ten or so extra dollars than I don't know what is and ALL games are going to be 50/60+ not just the 360 and N64 games were that to begin with and look how old that is. They are getting me a bit agitated with these 'Microsoft Points' as it just looks like an excuse for more money and all this downloadable stuff seems like it'll cause laziness on the developers parts "ah just ship the thing, we'll put out those other suits/maps/content we wanted in it later" but hey if we're stupid enough to fall for it then they deserve our money.

On a final note: the games are great but they're just like any other game; you like somethings and other things you don't but the fact is, if they could've put Perfect Dark, Kameo, Condemned,etc. on the current consoles than I'm sure they would have. I don't see this need for comparison when it's the only system out there, wait til everything is said and done before you start judging and even then if you don't own all the consoles than I see no right to judge anyway. I've never understood the fanboyism and I'll buy this one but not that because it isn't Nintendo or Sony or what have you, if you like gaming it doesn't matter who made the system just as long as the damn thing can play games. It reminds me so much of wrestling, everything is all good and fun til you know all the backstage stuff and get so caught up with the politics and all that it just takes all the joy out of it. Yes it's long but when have my posts ever been short and if anyone is ever on PDZ (Eradication mainly) my brothers are Warhawk360 and DOOMZDAY, I'll be the 1 under one of those as I haven't got my own account yet you'll know me as I'll be the one laying dead in the street in a pool of my own blood, and it's under the same in Halo 2 I'll be the pink one... laying dead in the street in a pool of my own blood.

um, also, there's a high chance this has been discussed already but...do xbox controllers fit in the 360 ports?

or are the controllers only wireless?...which would mean batteries?..though i haven't haard any tlak of that, so..
