tutorial tips out of nowhere???!!

so i have already beaten the game and am sitting at 75%. out of the blue i go to buy a hot dog and the text at the bottom says vendors wont serve unruly customers. yet i already bought the hot dog. then a second later i steal a cop car and get a 1 star and then text appears at the bottom saying that citizens on the street wont interact with me if i have a wanted level.

i havent seen either of these messages in the game yet but they appeared randomly now. i didnt do anything in the options either if there was a tutorial ON/OFF option.

You just hit the hot dog vendor or knocked something around that made him feel "attacked" and put him in no-serve mode.

As for the police car, the only "interaction" it could possibly be is picking up a hooker. You probably stopped close to one - you can't pick them up in police cars.

The messages always appear, you either never did these things or haven't noticed them.

These aren't out of nowhere.

There's a blue people marker near the cop car you stole, and that's why it's telling you that. You know, the "friends" you can interact with?

And with the hot dog vendor, that happens every time you attack one of them. Same with store owners. Even iff you're 92% finished with the game and do it...First time or four hundredth.

UK newspaper The Sun is trying their best to drum up some British outrage over Grand Theft Auto IV's inclusion of a child pageant site on the game's faux internet.
In GTA IV a little exploration at the game's cyber cafe yields LacySurprisePageant.com, when you visit the site a message pops up that it has been shut down by the game's police and that your IP address has been "cataloged" for possible future investigation. A visit also instantly maxes out your wanted level.
When I first noticed this, while playing through the game, I had a pretty good laugh, but at least one South Wales man was offended. And you know what they say: One person pissed off equals a story in The Sun.
Jason Deschoolmeester, 23, of South Wales, said: “I was looking on the internet for cheats and the name of this caught my eye as my daughter is called Lacey. This crosses the line. The makers have obviously sat around and discussed putting this in, and it’s not on. What will they do next?
“It’s disgusting. It could lead people to indulge in things like that. It is totally sick. I won’t play it again.”
While The Sun does go out of its way to point out that the game doesn't allow you to act out the role of a pedophile, they never explain how a single complaint by a gamer morphed into a story with the headline: A HIT computer game has sparked outrage by featuring a spoof paedophile website.

I'm having trouble getting the FINSIH HIM acheivement. I'm damned sure I've done at least 10 counters in 4 minutes. I haven't done any cheats that affect it. The only thing I can think of is that stopping for a hot dog might reset the count, but that seems dumb.

I also started off doing it with a baseball bat, and I thought that they might not count weapons in with melee attacks (though it is melee). So I stopped doing that like a week ago.

I got the achievement that wants you to kill a Rockstar developer in an online game. Is that rare or what, I've played like 3 games online and he was randomly in some team deathmatch.

It's a viral achievement. As long as you kill someone who has the achievement then you get it. Thus, if someone kills you they get it.

You don't have to kill a developer.

All the other GTA games I've played right to the end, but at the moment I just dont feel like doing it. Its starting to feel abit like a chore more than enjoyment.

Well, this game was meant to feel like a chore. By sucking the fun out of GTA IV, they have established a baseline for future GTA games.

I don't see much difference between the chore of having to make sure that all the sections of the city are under your gangs control in San Andreas, but I can agree that it can get very frustrating when people keep calling.

How bad was it in SA? I only played Saints Row, where the incursions against your turf were periodic, so I don't have much of areference point. Beyond that, I played GTA 3 and VC, but I got bored with them early on.

GTAIV is the only one that's really held my attention, despite the flaws.

I just remember being on my way to driving to a mission to have to stop and go all the way back across town to keep control of the turf...and then as I was leaving to go to the same mission it would happen again. And it wasn't like you could ignore it...as I recall you had to control a certain amount of the city to get to the game's final mission.

Yeah, the turf collection was terrible in SA. Never liked that aspect.

Honestly, I think GTA 4 was a bit less tedious than SA. Though I think that was mainly because I used taxis to get to at least the start of at least 50% of the missions. Used them in missions too.

Honestly, I think GTA 4 was a bit less tedious than SA. Though I think that was mainly because I used taxis to get to at least the start of at least 50% of the missions. Used them in missions too.
Which gets tedious when there are no cabs around. It's a shame you can't call Roman more often.

I always loved getting cars for Brucie with cabs. The cab would stop me right next to the car, and by the time the 5 guys with bats saw me I was in the car and on my way.

I just completed the story mode. I finished at 60%. Pretty sick game, I gotta say. I really don't feel like going around and finding fucking pigeons though.

I really liked how easy it was to blast people. Is there a war game out there with a similar style of shooting?

Maybe The Club. Its not a war game, but its does have third person shooting which is rather similar to GTA shoot-style.

The bikers in the train tracks mission was my favorite one. I beat it on the first time.

SPOILER: show

On the last mission...there is a stupid stray barrel right on the path leading up to the jetty and I hit it like 5 times and each time it made me fail. Freakin ridiculous mission. I didn't even know it was the final mission until I beat it.
