lol. Today rosters shrunk from 75 to 53. The Giants only actually CUT 1 guy, put 3 on IR and another on PUP.

Sorgi out for the year. Looks like Rhett Bomar's gonna be the backup. Really hope they can get a veteran QB though. Bomar looked okay all things considered but if Eli went down the season would be over.

Sinorice Moss also out for the year, his Giants career is likely over. Pretty much assures Victor Cruz survives Saturday's cuts (as if they could leave him off and expect to keep him on the practice squad anyway)

Really hope a serviceable enough veteran quarterback gets released tomorrow. No way am I comfortable with Rhett Bomar as the backup. Granted Eli and Peyton came from Archie's titanium balls so they are always healthy enough to play if need be, but still.

I'd really love to have Jeff Garcia as the backup but he signed with the UFL and apparently unlike the CFL and AFL, in the UFL you aren't allowed to just leave if an NFL team offers you a contract.

How many wide open receivers did he overthrow last night? It was like watching Eli in college.

Yeah, it was horrible...especially against 3rd and 4th stringers. That being said, even if the Giants found a legit backup, Bomar would probably be grabbed off waivers...so I'd have to guess the Giants need to carry 3 QBs on the roster this year.

He's been fine during preseason, minus the first game. O-Line getting way better. Also, if we have a decent passing attack, defenses won't be able to stack 8 in the box to destroy Jackson. Dunno how Jackson always gets his crazy yards from scrimmage with defenses knowing he is the only significant weapon in the Rams offense. Says a lot about how much of a beast the dude is.

Since I'm bored, I'm gonna try and guess the Giants' roster after tomorrow's cuts. Most of these guys are no-brainers, but there are still some interesting choices to make.

QB (2): Eli Manning, Rhett Bomar
RB (4): Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Jacobs, DJ Ware, Andre Brown
FB (1): Madison Hedgecock
WR (6): Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, Ramses Barden, Derek Hagan, Victor Cruz

The main notable cuts are Guy Whimper, Bryan Kehl, and Chase Blackburn. I gotta think Blackburn would have made it if he hadn't gotten injured. That being said, if it turns out he'll be ready within 2-3 weeks he could still make the squad. But I'm gonna guess his injury is more serious than that, and Wilkinson had a good camp.

I'd say that Koets and Alford are the two guys next up on the chopping block if the Giants get a veteran backup QB. The Giants probably won't waive Bomar and risk losing him, so someone else will have to go.

I could also see a released CB from another team being brought in and replacing DJ Johnson.

Apparently Darius Reynaud is also coming over in the deal. He was the Vikings' main punt returner last year.

The fact that he does returns immediately makes me wanna pencil him in for the roster. Still, that would mean 5 RBs on the roster...really hope they don't try to slip Andre Brown to the practice squad, I'd hate to see him get claimed.

He made the mistake of trashing the starting QB of the team and then the coach. Blamed the coach for hating him because of off-field reasons (aka him being a celebrity) instead of him realizing he is a mediocre NFL QB in abilities.

Arizona wanted to at least trade him to get something of value back but he decided on Monday to "trash" the team to the press.
