Well seeing as how there isn't anything on a San Andreas Stories, I would assume that what they said would mean they don't have any plans on making one right now. So...they know that they aren't...right now.

Yeah...I just found it comical how they could say that they “likely” hadn’t started development of another PSP title, because either you are or you aren’t, and you’d just think they’d do the obvious, and tell the reporter, “We are absolutely NOT, under any circumstances, at this point in time developing any new GTA games for the PlayStation® Portable.”

That’s all I was trying to say, but I think it’s safe to say that your explanation is correct.

I believe the "likely haven't started at all" was just a paraphrase by the person reporting the article from the website. Meaning he probably just worded what the article stated in a misleading fashion. I'm sure the actual article says that they haven't started a new PSP game.

I hope that mini game isn't going to be necessary to steal all cars. Some of the time would be ok, but if I was in the middle of a mission and had to grab a car quick, I'd be pissed if my mark was driving off into the sunset and I was stuck playing "Simon" type memory games or something stupid like that.

Minigames are over used these days I think.

  • There will be several different animation sets for breaking into a car, so far we know one of them includes Niko breaking the glass of the window with his elbow, then starting the car using the injection cables. We know there probably isn't a lot of different other ways Niko can do this, but we suspect it will involve dynamic animations, and for instance Niko sometimes becoming suspicious in the middle of hotwiring a car, looking around to see if anyone suspects what he's doing, then continuing. Rockstar previously said they want the animations to look less "canned", so this would fit well with that goal.
  • According to the article, Rockstar are using less non-realistic elements than previous GTA games, such as arrows and markers assisting and indicating things to the player. We already know the in-game mobile phone will play a big part in replacing some of these things, so perhaps we might see other helpful gadgets such a GPS system, though that is just speculation.
  • One of the ideas going into development is to give every street in the game a name, which could be displayed on-screen when you enter it by foot or car. This feature is yet to be decided on, along with the previously revealed information piece about Rockstar still deciding whether the entire city will be accessible from the start, or if different areas will be inaccessible by way of cordoning off bridges and such.
  • When R*'s Dan Houser was asked about the differences between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, he replied saying that it is their goal to have none, and that there are no platform preferences, both are difficult to develop on. For now, we take this as to have nothing to do with the extra downloadable content.
  • Speaking of which, he further says that they're not sure what exactly will be offered through additional content downloads. He says that maybe some things will be free, and others offered at a price.

This is true but you aren't gonna have to break windows and hotwire cars if you're jacking somebody.

NOT BAD”? It’s fucking AMAZING looking! It almost looks like if you took a real picture on a digital camera in New York City...if they do a GTA V down the road, though it will probably be the GTA game that blurs the line between realism and virtual realism as far as graphics go. Obviously graphics aren’t everything but they are so awesome looking for IV, can’t wait ’till this bad boy is out.

I can see what Damninator's saying and while I don't think it looks exactly like a realistic digital camera image, it does looks scary in detail.

In a preview for Xbox Magazine, they said that when you go behind the car there is a prompt for the LB/L1 to open the trunk. They didn't say anything about the feature itself but that probably means that you can stuff bodies in the trunks.

Time for a GTA4 update. This comes courtesy of Filefront.com.

"It seems some new tasty details on a little unknown title called "GTA IV" have hit the internet. The source of the information comes from the Turkish Official Xbox Magazine.

One of the most interesting details is the fact that GTA IV will implement more RPG elements. One scenario could be the possibility of only being able to do certain missions once, like having to catch a train at 7pm, if you don't make it to the train on time, then you won't be able to do that mission.

There were some other interesting details that were revealed in the article such as the removal of the HUD (health and armor will be reflected by Niko), explosions that are more…well, explosive, and gore that will give the game a real sense of realism (shoot someone in the leg and you can expect them to limp).

Full list of details after the break.

1) When you move, there is a slight vibration with every footstep when you run

2) The HUD has been removed- no health or armour indicators, it is all visual- and if you have armour, you actually have a bulletproof vest which visually deteriorates

3) Flame thrower and rocket launcher are still in the game

4) Explosions are larger than ever, and there is a mission in the game based on creating an awesome chain reaction of car explosions- apparently this looks awesome

4) Cars don't explode unless you blow them up - I.E they wont explode if you just keep crashing or hitting them - you have to rocket launch into them

5) Niko doesn't get tired- you can run forever, it just wont be as fast as previously.

6) more RPG elements, I.E - for a mission, you must catch the train at 7pm, and if you don't, you don't get to do that particular mission (they just gave this as an example, the scenario isn't confirmed in the game yet)

7) Gore is back and better, bullet wounds show, blood appears where you shoot people, they limp if you shoot them in the leg, and hold their arm if you shoot their arm. Apparently when you run someone over it is disturbing (but they gave no more detail)

8) No eating, girlfriends, keeping fit- but your skills do improve over time (driving etc)

9) Secret vehicles and “plenty of goodies” at 100% completion- no more details given (either not revealed or simply not known yet)

10) Land size is bigger than the 3 cities (not country) in SA put together

11) Graphics are better than Saints Row - draw distance is literally as far as you can see"

I don't completely trust the source, but if it's true, things have got interesting. The first thing that gets my attention is the announcement of no HUD, I just hope there's an option in game to turn it back on.

Eh, don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with cheating, using walkthroughs or using a Gameshark, but GTA's one of the few games that I avoid cheating bar reloading a saved game if I fuck up.

Like The Fugitive said, I hope they will have an option to at least toggle the HUD (Heads-Up Display) On or Off, and I also hope the rumors about only having one chance at certain missions are only rumors, unless the missions described will not be crucial to the completion of the storyline, which in all likelihood, why would they be if you only got one chance to complete a mission?

I'm pretty sure when they say "one time" it means once that day. Then you fail and can't complete/advance the mission until the next day or the next week if they have days of the week.

Yeah, you're probably right now that I think about it. Sort of like in San Andreas where if you went to a marker and it had to be a certain time it would say "come back at 21:00." So it will most likely be similar to that.

Graphics looks no where near as good as Saints Row IMO.
This will probably be the first GTA game I complete 100%

Exactly. There's no way they're going to do that, unless they want to piss a lot of people off.

This game looks good, imo, and I'll probably pick it up just because of the name alone.

The no-hud sucks though.
screenshots look good, but I wonder if they'll be that good once the game is fully released.

Cant wait to base jump off the big statue of liberty thing, thats if they have parachutes again

Oh, I dunno...because of the fact there’s going to still be heli’s? I dunno anything, though, compared to gatoconbotas, who forgot about that.

Also, on a side note, I did enjoy using the cheat in SA to fly with a car, and then bail in mid-air, with or without a parachute. Most times I did it without, just to hear Carl scream something like “Oh, FUCK, NOOOOOOOOOO!...” or “I hate gravity!”

I dont entirely trust that article, I mean there was an official statement claiming that there would be girlfriends, but that says otherwise. As far as the pics go though, I love the references to Didier Sachs, Go Go Space Monkey, The Turismo car and Ranch Clothing
