Haven't caught much of the fued with Drew, but the fact that they're using him in an extended fued with a guy they are obviously building for the future is a good sign that the twitter account is a work, and that Matt's still viewed as a valuable asset to the company.

I agree with Fox that he does need some direction. The McIntyre thing is his first semi interesting fued in eons. His run with MVP was some of the best stuff going on SmackDown! at the time, before and after his injury. He needs something similar to that, that actually means something.

With that said, I've stated this before, but an extended period off for Matt Hardy would do him nothing but good. His heel turn was aborted, and he's basically running off the steam of being Matt Hardy, which, granted, is keeping him over, but at the same time is making him stale and hard to invest in. Some time off will allow him to heal up and get back into some decent shape, as well as give creative and Hayes some time to think of a possible new directions to help evolve Hardy's character.

I think the real point to be made here is that it is Matt Hardy and nobody gives a shit. He stopped being relevant in the wrestling world a long time ago...every time he starts to get a push...they start jobbing him out to midcarders that are in the middle of a semi-push. Matt Hardy is a relatively big mid-card name that bridges the gap to a larger role.

Watching SmackDown!, I think this program with Drew McIntyre and Matt Hardy is working. Drew is getting some good heat, and the fans really want to see Hardy kick his ass. It's not the best thing on WWE TV right now, but it's nowhere near bad. I'd love it if Drew aired a segment where he went down to Florida and kicked Justin Gabriel's ass around the FCW arena as a way of getting to Hardy.

I'd eventually like to see this lead to an "unsanctioned Street Fight" at Fatal Four Way, with McIntyre just wanting to hurt Hardy, and perhaps a "if Hardy wins he's re-instated" stipulation. But yeah, the dude definitely needs more character. Something towards the Mattitude side of things would be appreciated. Even if he just brought back the Matt Facts and started pretentiously calling himself "Matthew Moore Hardy" would be an improvement, in my opinion.

The only thing that bothers me about the feud is that it's clear that Hardy isn't going to go over. Which makes the angles they are running weird because it's set up in the old "heel does everything he can to avoid the face including getting him fired/removed from the show" fashion, which typically ends with a big comeback/beat the odds win for the face.

I think Matt Hardy is an asshole. Alot of people like him but the way he comes across to me is just a guy that can't get past things and can't live with the fact that he'll never be as over as Jeff. I know the IWC loves Matt for some reason, but I never understood why. I mean his run in 2003 was great and when the Hardy Boyz were on fire in 2000-2001 I liked him. He will be in TNA at some point by the end of the year or show up early next year. I think, like Carlito, he is trying to get out of his contract in any way he can. I am not a Mattitude follower. His V1 character seems to be his true life persona. I know that was the only time I liked him but it just seems that is what he acts like.

Fuck it.

When Matt went crazy-jealous heel over Jeff's success, I was pumped. He started wearing new attire -- tights, even -- and drastically shifted his appearance. He was whining and bitching and it was fantastic. I thought, "this is it! He's finally on a new track, and he could really get somewhere!"

But he didn't. His brother was leaving, so WWE turned him face...for basically no reason. Now the new attire is gone, the new attitude is gone, the hair is longer and scragglier and his weight is a fucking joke. All interest he had created and all support he had garnered from me...is gone.

I no longer care if he ever gets to the main event. I don't even want him to reach any new heights. Fuck him. He's nothing but fucking talk, and any hope I had for him has slowly but certainly morphed into resentment. That's right: I resent Matt Hardy. He's not putting in any real effort, he's pandering to the fans he has left, and he's taking up a spot that could go to someone else. And I don't even care who, it's just a spot that ANYone who is actually willing to put forth effort could use.

When I first started watching WWF, I hated Rock and Austin. But they grew on me, and now I rather enjoy both of them. I've had that happen a few times, now. But never, never have I had someone completely ruin themselves for me. And now I simply must say, after watching Matt Hardy complain about life on a vlog -- and then seeing Paul London make fun of said vlog -- I've turned on Matt Hardy.

So, yeah. Fuck him.

I've soured a lot on Hardy, too. I've tried to cut the guy a lot of slack, because he is talented, but the dude surely has some power in his hands to really re-invent himself properly. I'm sure the WWE loves him working as a face in his crazy pants -- but if he went back to tights and cut his hair, that alone would change so much about him. He's reminding me of bitter Hardcore Holly now, and I don't like it.

Very good comparison. I used to be o.k. with Holly, as well, but the worse he got, the more disgusted I became.

Hardcore Holly was never untalented, and he did have a good connection to crowds. He was just a dick. Matt is turning out to be a dick like that, and the world's biggest mark for himself. Yes, the WWE has dropped the ball in the past with him, but when you have guys working their asses off to really improve their game and earn their pushes (the Nexus guys, Sheamus, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre and even guys in smaller roles like Zack Ryder and Primo), for a guy to stand around getting fatter and dirtier and want a push -- it makes no sense to me.

Not that appearances should be the end-all of wrestling, but if Matt took a little more pride in himself (well, he seems pretty proud of himself, actually -- if he were a little more vigilant in his presentation), he'd be relevant again. It's a fucking shame the guy can't seem to get over himself. The guy can't even get a proper go on SmackDown!, where the head booker fucking loves him.

Don't really like Jeff, either. Always preferred Matt as the talent, but Jeff has definitely been the bigger success (although I think that option was there for Matt, once upon a time).

I really hate to say it and I mean REALLY HATE TO SAY IT but I have to agree here Matt has become a comlete and total dick and has no chance of ever making it to the top now. His heel run was his last chance and althow WWE droped the ball there I just have to believe that if Matt cleaned up and got in shape mabe just mabe WWE would give him another shot but alas he is now bound to go to TNA and probably coast on what little popularity he has left for a few years before fading into obscurity and not being seen again until WWE brings 'The Hardy Boyz' in to be inducted into the HOF years down the line.

I've stood behind Matt as the one who was the base of the team, the more technically sound one, and ultimately, the one who would have a longer career.

But, now his ring work is the drizzling shit and he's a whiney bitch (as previously stated). He would do far better for himself if he would shut the fuck up and quit working his fans. I'm. Not resentful or mad, just really disappointed. He's had hot angles HANDED to him and in one way or another has shit the bed with all of them.

Same here, always figured Jeff would burn out quicker and Matt would be the Hardy who would accomplish something in the long term. Matt isn't completely to blame here, guys.

You ever have a job that you were really good at, but for one reason or another, the upper management or your teammatees (or both) never recognize you for your work ethic and continually treat you like shit, despite the fact that you constantly deliver a sound product on a consistent basis?

It makes you sick. It makes you apathetic and it makes you not give a fuck.

Matt has had chances, but so has the WWE to capitalize on Matt, and they haven't done that. Edge/Hardy at Summerslam is a perfect perfect perfect example of Vince McMahon being more interested in showing how much larger his cock is than Matt's than he is interested in making a new star in Matt Hardy. A fucking turnbuckle spot that leads to a bleed-out match call? During one of the biggest, most talked about and realistically interest driven matches all year and they book the returning good guy, who is hot as hell and mad as fuck about his girlfriend getting stolen from him, to fucking lose due to bleed out in about 5 minutes flat. FUCK THAT.

They had a great thing with Matt Hardy V.1 and what happened to that? Where did that go? What did they do with one of the hottest properties on Smackdown? They let it fucking die. MH V.1 could've been a US Champion at the very, very least.

Matt versus Jeff at Mania was the best they've booked him in a long time. But because Jeff leaves, what the fuck do they do? They ignore the brother, who is not only getting hot again as a heel, but who could realistically step up and fill missing gaps in Smackdown's upper card and main event. A heel Matt Hardy in the main event on the Smackdown roster made perfect sense. And what the fuck do they do? They turn him face and do absolutely nothing with him.

Fuck that. Let him go, let him get back in shape and go to TNA where he might actually get some storylines that don't get pulled out from under him at the worst possible moment.
