Fox is dead on.

I blame WWE far more than Matt. Not saying Matt isn't partly responsible, but damn if the E hasn't pulled it out from under him... every single time. Matt Hardy should be handling things better, but if he's a bit fed up and apathetic, I don't condone it... but I can understand.

AJHayes summed up my view on Hardy himself -- "I've stood behind Matt as the one who was the base of the team, the more technically sound one, and ultimately, the one who would have a longer career."

And yet Vince yanks the rug every time, for how long now? How long does Charlie Brown try to kick the football before he finally tells Lucy he doesn't give a shit anymore?

And now I simply must say, after watching Matt Hardy complain about life on a vlog -- and then seeing Paul London make fun of said vlog -- I've turned on Matt Hardy.

So, yeah. Fuck him.


I agree with everything you have just said. He is just all talk and just playing his idiot fans. I loved his heel turn just as much as the next guy but after Jeff Left and he turned back. I could give a fuck less whatever has to say or do. Because he has just become so fucking terrible.

matt hardy has lost it...he is talented and got some pretty unfair breaks. But lets face it in WWE there are few top spots, and it was just simply a combination of him not caring anymore and persons not favoring him backstage.

i would place carlito and matt hardy in the same category right now...talented but not used right, and just didnt care to be in wwe anymore.

If I had to put one word out there to place Matt Hardy it would be "EGO"

The videos. The way he treats his fans. The cryptic bullshit to keep people checking his pages. He is LOVING seeing 10 threads a day created in dedication to him.

In his mind I guess there is no such thing as bad press.

He is just so full of himself that he is blinded by the fact that he has become outdated and useless and isn't willing to WORK to fix it. Undertaker must really dislike this guy because he is EVERYTHING that he isn't.

Matt versus Jeff at Mania was the best they've booked him in a long time. But because Jeff leaves, what the fuck do they do? They ignore the brother, who is not only getting hot again as a heel, but who could realistically step up and fill missing gaps in Smackdown's upper card and main event. A heel Matt Hardy in the main event on the Smackdown roster made perfect sense. And what the fuck do they do? They turn him face and do absolutely nothing with him.

Fuck that. Let him go, let him get back in shape and go to TNA where he might actually get some storylines that don't get pulled out from under him at the worst possible moment.
Look, no one has been there defending Matt Hardy in the past as much as me. I am a huge mark for the guy as a performer.

In 2005, the guy was fucking money. Vince absolutely fucked up in this year, not only with Matt Hardy, but with Christian, as well. This year was, as you said, about Vince proving he was the boss and what he said go. People want to really flock behind these guys? He'll take one of them and their heat, and job them out; he'll drive the other one to TNA. Yeah, that was fucked.

The WWE have dropped the ball with Matt Hardy. The times have changed and guys like Hardy, Christian, MVP, etc. are sort of being passed over for younger and fresher talent, this is true. The tragedy is that these guys never got their shot when they should have, due to politics or whatever. But to be fair, look at Christian -- the guy is being used in a feud with Alberto Del Rio when Hardy can barely serve as credible fodder for the guy. MVP, despite being stale from the critical perspective, seems to be someone the WWE are really trying to position as a fan-favourite to shove down our throats. Let's just see what the WWE does with him when his new theme song comes out.

Some guys in this business just cannot be ignored right now. That's why The Miz and Kofi Kingston are going up. Matt Hardy is trying to grip to something that he was, instead of making the guy he is someone to grip on to.

I'm not getting why everyone is getting on Matt for "being a mark for himself". Honestly, who the fuck isn't these days? Who hasn't been? Triple H, HBK, Austin, Lesnar, Hall, Nash, Flair, Hogan, Orton, etc.

Most everyone who's had a high level of success in the wrestling business, which Matt has most certainly had, becomes a mark for themselves.

Back to the topic, I think Matt's time in WWE has come to an end. They're not going to push him any further than they already have. While going about it the way he does is a bit ridiculous, how can ypu blame a guy whose been shafted three different times from truly elevating themselves? Fox got it right. Matt feels underutilized, underappreciated and probably unmotivated. That's not entirely his fault.

That is not entirely true. Matt got himself over as Matt Hardy V1. Jeff also had nothing to do with Matt promoting himself after his initial release and eventual return feud with Edge.

I think that reasoning is a cheap cop out as to how Matt Hardy achieved the success that he did.

No one truthfully believes that, Damian. Nor does anyone blame Matt Hardy (entirely) for his past pushes being dropped. But the guy is still doing his "V1" handsign. That gimmick ended how many years ago? When is Matt Hardy going to do something...anything, which says "Hey, I am Matt Hardy, and I am aware this year is 2010 and I need to do something."

Kurt Angle continues to have great matches. Triple H is working with creative. John Cena has been willing to put over guys like Sheamus and Nexus, which is something so many other guys wouldn't do. Randy Orton has been on fire lately. The Miz has moved merchandise and has been turning out constantly improved work. Kofi Kingston has a great match with anybody he works with.

Matt Hardy is not a talentless hack, and if he got himself back on track, stopped speaking out about the company and put the sort of effort in that demanded attention rather than cried about not getting it -- Hardy could be amazing. Right now, he's an enhancement guy that's hard to get behind because his only perpetuating feature is his heat from years back.

Well to counter that, John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H are doing the same mannerisms that got them over in the first place.

Also...it's not as if Matt has creative control with his character's direction. I'd feel safe saying he's not happy with his gimmick. The guys you've mentioned have also been in and stayed in the good graces of WWE. Matt, for whatever reasons,bhas never been seen to bne taken seriously enough to be elevated or to be in a position to be elevated like Kolfi is right now.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the guy. I agree that he is out of shape, phones in his matches, and has a "don't give a fuck" demeanor. Not to mention not doing himself any favors by constantly throwing bitch fits on the internet. But that doesnlt mean he is not justified in feeling the way he does.

Matt, for whatever reasons,bhas never been seen to bne taken seriously enough to be elevated or to be in a position to be elevated like Kolfi is right now.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the guy. I agree that he is out of shape, phones in his matches, and has a "don't give a fuck" demeanor. Not to mention not doing himself any favors by constantly throwing bitch fits on the internet. But that doesnlt mean he is not justified in feeling the way he does.
The difference between John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H and Matt Hardy, is that they are John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H, and he is Matt Hardy. You do raise valid points, and I can understand and appreciate that Matt Hardy has the right to be unhappy. Let's compare his situation to one that Carlito found himself in:

I love Carlito's ring work. I don't think the guy was a subpar performer, or "lazy" as many labelled him. I understand that he got annoyed at the way he was told to portray his character as being "more like The Rock," and understand that the guy was more comfortable as a heel. On the flip-side, you have to play the role you are given sometimes. I can understand he didn't want to waste the prime years of his career on WWE Superstars.

I want to support Carlito in his protest about how he was being used. The guy could have done so much more. Right now, I don't feel like sticking up for Hardy. If I am going to appreciate that Matt Hardy feels fed-up that he isn't being used better, then I think Matt Hardy should appreciate that for whatever reason, I don't give a fuck about him like I used to.

Things pro-Hardy I will agree with:

* His shit with Christian, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes was pretty poorly handled -- especially for SmackDown!. That kind of stop-startage and forgetage (new words) is the shit RAW is known for.

* He probably could have been used in a hot feud with CM Punk right after Jeff left the company, but that didn't happen.

* He doesn't have creative control over his character.

But here is what is holding me back from getting behind Hardy:

* Christian has essentially been put in such a similar boat to Matt. He isn't being allowed to talk (which he can do much better than Hardy), and to be honest, over the past few months he's probably had less notable programs than Matt has. Christian is doing far more with far less.

* He's looking like a mess. This might be a small thing to some, but the Hardy charm is wearing thing in Matt's middle age. There have been times when Matt is in tremendous shape, and I understand that he has had health issues and all that -- but the guy has just ended up looking ratty. He could still play the same character with shorter hair, and a better physique. While Hardy may have excuses for appearing to be out of shape, that's like Dixie Carter arguing that the stuff in TNA that gets "Fire Russo!" chants wasn't actually written by Russo. It's just not as believable seeing Matt Hardy beat Drew McIntyre right now (which he has done in the past, so it's not like the guy has been entirely jobbed out, or anything).

* Hardy may not have creative control over his character, but what is he really doing to advance himself? What is he really doing better than anyone else on the SmackDown! roster? If he wants a better spot, shouldn't he be working the mic better than CM Punk? Shouldn't he be working in the ring better than Jack Swagger? Shouldn't he be more consistent than Christian or Kofi Kingston? Shouldn't he be moving more merchandise than Rey Mysterio? Granted, Hardy doesn't need to do all of these things -- but what does he really bring that makes him special? Special in 2010? If he were working as a serviceable mid-carder, it would be fine, and well-deserved, but he needs to turn up the heat if he is going to get the pot boiling.
