Try British Sea Power too. Their second album comes out next week. Same kind of stuff, except a bit more dramatic.

Sounds nothing like New Order. Sounds more like the Strokes mated to the Killers, in a cynical attempt to play on the recent success of both. The Bravery are fucking awful.

The Killers singer actually came out recently and slagged off the Bravery as being signed solely on the success of The Killers and to be some sort of imitators.

The Killers are way better by a country mile.

Kernkraft maybe.

New order are pretty unique.

Try some Mylo and Prodigy. All electronica experimental stuff.

No Prodigy bullshit.

I like the simple elegance of New Order.

Joy Division and Depeche Mode are equally up there.

Well, New Order are an indie band who use electronica influences.

So early Prodigy and Kernkraft and Daft Punk are the electronica side, then stuff like Stone Roses and Smiths and The Cure are the indie side.

There are no bands with a similar sound to New Order though.

Also when I say Prodigy, I mean earlier stuff than Firestarter and Breathe.

Songs like Charlie and Jericho sound nothing like New Order.
Yeah go with Joy Divison and Depeche Mode, I'm also guessing you'll like or do like The Cure. I'd start off with 'Disintegration' as the first album you buy or download.

Neither do any of those bands. New Order have a unique sound. Joy Division, Depeche Mode and The Cure, none use electronica underbeats.

Depeche mode only sound similar because Dave Gahan has a similar deep voice.

Nothing sounds the same as New Order. Get the point. They made dark 80's Indie like the Smiths, The Cure Depeche Mode etc... They incorperated electronica Like all the bands I said before.

That, is the answer to the question.
The Lightning Seeds were good, and couldn't be more different from New Order unless the were fronted by Marylin Manson.

"Bizarre Love Triangle" and "Just can't get enough" from Depeche Mode definitely have the same feel.

I am not sure what era that you are comparing, but DM's earlier stuff had a very solid electronic beat to it. You are correct Gahan voice lends to comparisons as well.

Anyone pick up Gahan's solo album? Just saw it over the weekend. It looked interesting. I always though he would be a good replacement for Michael Hutchence in INXS as there were rumours he was questioning his role in DM.

His solo stuff is more rocking than that of DM.
