The Greatest British stand up comedian
Please vote on the poll I'll be setting up shortly. I am, of course, using the comedians who I have actually seen perform. I will no doubt leave some off the list, and for that I apologise in advance. If your favourite isn't on the list, please select 'none of the above - my favourite isn't on this list' and post your choice.

I pick Billy Connolly. Tough for me as I find Ricky Gervais, Peter Kay, Jethro and Lily Savage all hilariously funny. But the Big Yin wins it every time.

Tommy Cooper, but I'm a big fan of Jasper Carrott too.

It's a tough choice. I would pick Lee Evans, Jasper Carrott, Bottom Live, Peter Kay and Jack Dee.

Off that list, Gervais. I'm not into much standup though. I don't understand the hype surrounding Peter Kay, I really don't find the man funny (or his standup anyway).
