What rock/alternativ bands from 90's and today would you recommend as radio friendly?
Even the most obscure of the bunch you can think of.

Everything that got played on the radio back then, perhaps? Despite some of it not being quite suitable for most radio stations, there was certainly a nice opening of the doors for music that was not so "safe" and "friendly" sounding as alot of the tripe was back in the 80's.

Stone Temple Pilots have some radio friendly tracks.
You could pass some Pearl Jam as radio friendly (Daughter, Low Light, In Hiding, etc.) |

Incubus
A Perfect Circle LINKIN PARK Tool, not so much, seeing as most of their songs are over 6 minutes long and usually release one or two singles per album. |

I didnt realize APC were a 90's band. Linkin Park either.
Tools entire "Undertow" album has songs mostly within 4-5 minutes or so length wise. But they didnt really hit the mainstream in such a big way back then. |

Well fuck me in the ass....it does. I see 90's and nothing else matters usually.
Maybe I am stuck in that timeframe. Good one to be stuck in. |

I loved 2001. Not because of Linkin Park as a band, but Linkin Park as the music. Last edited by Just John; 06-11-2007 at 09:14 AM. |

Actually, it's listed as 2000 on every discography I checked (Both of them) So we're both wrong. ![]() Which makes sense. My bandmates were actually playing In the End at one point, when I walked into rehearsals, and this was the winter before my 21st Birthday. The song sounds weird with no bass, by the way. |

Yeah, odd because its not exactly a song well known for the bass in it.

Naw, and there really isn't a lot interesting in the bass, but without the bottom, the sound is funky.
Could have also been that they were playing it in E, not Drop Cb. |
