So, I went ahead and watched Slammiversary (spoilers)

And it was pretty decent I thought. Better than a lot of crap that TNA has spewed out as of late. Every match on the card was at least somewhat entertaining, which honestly, is a step up from what the WWE has done lately.

I figured Kurt Angle would wind up champ. He is probably the biggest name in the company and i suppose they need a 'big name' with the belt if they want to try and compete with the WWE. But, this is the same fatal mistake that WCW made and I hope TNA doesn't go down the same path. WCW could only put over previously established stars. I think if TNA wants legit credibility and wants to make a legit run at the WWE, they need at least a few TNA-born stars in their title scene. They seem content with Samoa Joe and to a lesser extent, AJ Styles. 1) AJ Styles is not a legit main eventer in the mind of the casual fan, and hell, isn't in the mind of most internet smarks either. 2) Samoa Joe seems to have his own markish following, but people either love him or passionately hate him it seems. I don't think thats the kind of character response you want to build around.

So who does TNA need? Two weeks ago on Impact (I actually watched that too), James Storm and Chris Harris put on a GREAT match, I thought. And lately, I think the two of them have been proving their worth to TNA. Chris Harris was in the match last night, but wasn't received all that well, but probably because he was thrown in their last minute and with little explaination. Anyway, Storm and Harris are both guys that I think are main event caliber performers that TNA needs to utilize in order to be effective competition. I think I favor Storm at the moment, as I think he is the most ready to be in the main event right now. TNA needs to put Joe-Angle on the shelf for a little while. Go ahead and make Angle a clear cut face, and let Storm heel it up and fued with him.

Anyway, I'm groggy and still half-asleep and I'm having trouble organizing thoughts. So thats where I end the rant, for now...
