The Shield

About 4 months ago, my friend Will (poster JeSuisAwareAware) gave me the first two seasons to watch...

Since then, as much as I could, I have been watching the whole saga until Season 7.

What can I say......I fucking loved it.

Thing about finding and watching this gem, is that I wish I was in on it when it happened, when everyone else was into it. That's what I love about being a big LOST fan, I eargly anticipated the first episode as soon as I saw the adverts back in summer 2004, and since then its been such an engaging story.

However, The Shield now ranks up there with my fave shows of all time...

1 - LOST
2 - The Sopranos
3 - Arrested Development
4 - The Shield
5 - Twin Peaks
6 - Prison Break
7 - Trailer Park Boys
8 - Heroes
9 - Six Feet Under
10 - South Park

I won't go over every single piece of info, scenes or plots because there is so much, so here are some smaller notes:

  • Michael Chiklis is now a friggin legend in my eyes
  • My fave character out of the whole thing was actually 'Dutch' - spin off please
  • Superb acting credit goes to; CCH Pounder, Walton Goggins and Forest Whitaker.
  • Like Tony Soprano, there were so many times I felt sorry for, and angry at Vic, awesome stuff.
  • Did wish there was a bit more cinematography in terms of montages, music, etc.
Overall, I loved the whole story arc from start to finish, I loved it. Definitely recommend it to ANYONE who is need of some quality TV who has not yet given it a try.

Very very glad I saw this.

There are stories of coincidence and chance and intersections and strange things told and which is which and who only knows....and we generally say, "Well if that was in movie I wouldn't believe it." Someone's so and so meet someone else's so and so and so on -- It is in the humble opinion of this narrator that these strange things happen all the time.......and so it goes and so it goes and the book says, "We may be through with the past, but the past ain’t through with us."
