yeah i mean, this (3 straight CG) is only something that has never happened in 30 plus years.
outside of the starters, we have only had one other pitcher appear in this series. i'm thinking that we will see the bullpen tonight, but you never know... jose has a CG under his belt this year. |

Bases loaded no outs no runs is a choke. Duque was excellent, yes, but there's no excuse for not being able to hit a weak grounder and get the run home.

All I'm saying is that with the bases loaded, no one out, at home, in an inning which Manny has already homered, your season on the line, Varitek/Graffanino/Damon due up, a run has to be scored. Anything except a pop up and a strikeout will do it. They popped up twice and stuck out once. No excuses.

You are right, there are no excuses but it seems like you aren't giving the Sox pitching the credit for shutting down that offense.

Holy shit, amazing stand by Astros defense. Bad play by Pujols though, why go with only one out?

Can't help but wonder what would've happened to these teams with a different manager.
2005 Cardinals? 2004 Cardinals 2002 Cardinals 1992 A's 1990 A's 1988 A's 1983 White Sox I'm not blaming their struggles on La Russa, I'm just saying he's had more talent than any one other than Joe Torre and doesn't have much to show for it. |

Almost another ridiculous call made, but it was reversed. Escobar picks up the ball and tags Pierzynski with his glove which does not have the ball in it.

my god. 4 CG's in a row by 4 different pitchers
I wonder how far you have to go back to find that in any Postseason play. |

Manager Ozzie Guillen's team became the first club to pitch four complete games in a single postseason series since the 1956 New York Yankees got them from Whitey Ford, Tom Sturdivant, Don Larsen (his perfect game) and Bob Turley against the Brooklyn Dodgers. |

I was cheering for the Angels, but you have to give the Sox credit, they played a great series. Don't know if the Cards will have it in them to take 3 games in a row against Houston. I hope they can as I want Walker to get a ring before he retires.
If it comes down to it, Houston vs. Chicago will definitely be a great match up if you are a fan of pitching. May not be as marketable as other combinations, but it will be nice to see some new teams playing for it all regardless. |

Who do the Cards have to get through to get into the series? Pettite, Clemens and Oswalt I think, not sure though. Either way, thats quite the challenge.
Astros and Sox in the series will be pretty great. Pettite, Clemens, Contreras, and El Duque all in the series for Yankees fans to see. Other pitchers on the staffs aren't too shabby either, haha. |
