For those of you that get SI, there is a cool article this week written by Chris Ballard that follows through 6 days in the AL Central.

Best part of the piece (besides it giving some much needed love to the ALC) is what he wrote for the Sox/Angels make up game. He talks to my friend and former co-worker Amy, my old boss Denise (I slept with one of her daughters), and goes to my local bar (owned by a friend of my family and its two blocks from my place).

He even mentions a night where McCarthy & Jenks showed up there (I ended up drinking with Jenks for most of the night).

Good shit.

Hinske has looked pretty good thus far, can't really say the same for the pitching. Well I guess Johnson was alright for the first few innings can't really expect much more out of him

Anyone who has MLB.TV, have you downloaded the mlb.tv mosaic, and if so, did it work. It never works for me sometimes the games load but the screens just come up black but the audio plays. Or sometimes nothing happens

not disagreeing or anything but if that pitch was strike 3, they would have thrown different pitches to the next hitter and it could have completely changed the game...i think about these things a lot like if you take one step to the right instead of the left you completely changed the world.

Beckett's era is over 5 and has been around there for most of the season, he'd fit in equally well on the CWS rotation imo, massive run support making up for average pitching

Nah not when I am raging

Even now when I am not shitfaced, I really can't see anyone thinking Yankees or Red Sox had better pitching staffs than the A's. Maybe saying the White Sox before the season started I could see, since they where so sick last year but have feel off.

Also team ERA can be pretty skewed due to the outliers, could have a guy with an ERA of like 15.69 who has only pitched a couple of games really fucking it up. Not saying that is disproves your claim or anything, but I just don't like using Team ERA as a measuring stick really.
