did u miss his start against the indians? i believe so. Now that chacin is healthy he'll continue to show why he's a better pitcher than Blanton

Jays are the 8th best team in the AL right now. Which, as we all know, is the only league that counts. Therefore being #8 out of 30 is hardly mediocre. They will finish better than 8th to boot. They are spectacular.

Why does Gibbons keep pulling Halladay once he gets the lead? For the life of me, I can't understand this guy. IN Halladay's last 3or4 starts, the bullpen has blown the lead he fought all game to get. Oh, or Rios throws the ball into the stands after semi catching it, causing it to become a 2 run HR. I know wins aren't the true measure of a pitcher, but I feel for Halladay, because he's deserving of 20 win seasons. He's deserving of those traditional milestones.

I just want some middle relief!

Why do people care about the MVP? If it comes down to say 2 guys, and "Guy A" wins it, and "Guy B" doesn't, it doesn't make "Guy B" anyless of a player. I really don't care about what a bunch of writers vote on, personal awards are pretty pointless in team sports anyway.

I just noticed I am in a discussion about a Gold Glove while saying I don't care about the MVP lol, kinda weird

But like I said about the MVP is true about the Gold Glove, people aren't gonna think Chavez is miles ahead of Lowell or Crede if he wins or vice versa - so even that is kind of dumb now that I look at it.

It isn't even close. Chavez and Rolen are in a completely different class among third-basemen; they will go down as 2 of the greatest ever. Lowell is good but fielding percentage stats aren't going to tell you how good a guy is at turning a double play, how his range is, etc. All things that anyone could see Chavez > Lowell.

Fielding is not hitting, there still aren't any good metrics out there.

Nah I already stated I don't care if Ortiz even won it (pretty sure in this thread too) I don't think Ortiz would get enough votes to win even if he did have a monster season since he is a DH.

Actaully the only reason I'd wish Ortiz would win it is so a player from the Yankees couldn't. If Jeter does end up winning it though, hopefully he comes off his MVP season by leading the league in errors the next season.

Chavez and Rolen maybe 2 of the bests, but saying Lowell isn't a canidate for the Gold Glove this season is pretty dumb when he has been making pretty amazing plays this entire year.
