I hadn't seen a lot of Joe Cole before the World Cup, but he is probably my favorite English player to watch now. He is like the white Ronaldinho or something.

Also, Rooney brings a whole new dimention to England and he will be the reason they go somewhere. As for Crouch, he has looked simply awful. Is he just on the team because he is tall or what? England needs to groom themselves a better striker.

Yes, Crouch is just in the team because he's tall. People try and kid themselves that he's not with their boring rhetoric about how he "has a good touch for a big man" and how he's "good at linking up the play with the ball at his feet."

But he is generally pretty shit and just there because he is about 9 feet tall.

I'm not certain, but I think they have a long list of ways of seperating after goal difference and head to head and stuff incase they're tied.

They definatly did at Euro 2004 cos i remember reading it, it was stuff like goals scored, then it eventually got down to stupid stuff like the two tied team's past record against eachother and who had come out on top most times.

I've read up on this now.

It goes:

a) Points
b) Goal diff
c) Actual goals scored

Then it gets down to head-to-head results between the tied teams

d) Head-to-Head points
e) Head-to-Head goal diff
f) Head-to-head goals scored
g) Drawing of lots by FIFA


It would probably only get down to c) though. Pretty unlikely every draw would be the same exact score.

IE if Team A (let's call them Sweden) drew their games 2-2 and 1-1 while Team B (let's call them Denmark) drew their games 2-2 and 0-0, and therefore Team C (let's call them Italy) drew their games 1-1 and 0-0, Teams A and B (ie Sweden and Denmark) would go through and Italy would miss out and cry about a conspiracy.

Well England are through as champs, but they still haven't got that impressive performance in this world cup. Even if they'd won tonight, it still wouldn't have been a breathtaking show from them.
