Angle REALLY should have taken at least until next year (probably until around May) off to heal, this could be a huge mistake on his part.

TNA, though, did the right thing and picked him up. It's the only way to really show the WWE that they're ready to fuck them up.

Kurt's gonna fuck them up!

That I have to agree with. Now the real question is: how long until Angle starts jobbing to Double J?

Bound For Glory Card:
-Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship

-Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting (If Sting loses he retires)

-AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs. The Naturals vs. The LAX vs. Team 3D
vs. America's Most Wanted The James Gang for the NWA World Tag Team Championship in a Tag Team Elimination Match

-Senshi vs. Jay Lethal for the TNA X-Division Championship

-Christian Cage vs. Rhino (In Rhino's hometown)

How is that alone not the best card ever? Throw in a Petey vs. Sabin match, Shelley vs. Starr and colour commentary from Bobby Heenan or Kevin Nash instead of Don West, and you have the greatest PPV of all time.

Thank you, Kurt. You've done what everyone like me been trying to do for years. Change the wrestling industry for the better.

What I don't get is how he got around the 90 day no compete clause. It can't be more than 30 days now, so if he had the clause, which I assume he did, he can't even show up on TV until November.

I think TNA and Angle have some lawsuits coming their way.

In all the reports about Angle's release, nobody seemed to know what the terms were regarding a no compete clause in Kurt Angle's contract. It could well be that per the terms of the release, Kurt had no no compete clause or that the way he was released nullified it.

The WWE would like the biggest "heels" in the business if they did that. It plays right into TNA's hands. The WWE gives them more attention, and it's something that can get WWE vs. TNA going. That's not what the WWE wants. Don't give me "that's not what TNA wants", because they need to compete with the WWE. It's the only way anyone will ever take them seriously.

Oh, and the WWE delays Angle 90 days, he is less likely to injure himself, which (and this is going to sound cruel) is a bad business move. Angle fucks up his neck next week, that's it. Fans build up anticipation for 90 days, TNA has time to market it all, and make shit loads of cash. If Angle's an enemy, better to let him get back into the ring sooner.

TNA might use the 90 day clause as an excuse to let Angle rest. Jim Cornette comes out, says Angle can't wrestle until *insert date here*, and we get insane build-up to Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe. Oh fuck that would be huge.

As far as the two hour thing goes, it's only for that one episode, then it goes back to one hour but in primetime (8PM)...

The 11/16 edition of TNA Impact will be a two hour show, with Impact returning to a one hour series after their debut on Thursdays at 9 PM.

Then why didn't a guy like Matt Hardy go STRAIGHT to TNA? "90 day no compete clause? Fuck that. If the WWE sues, they'll look like 'heels' and draw attention to TNA. They don't want that."

Yeah, it's probably anything that can lead to profits. So saying "Kurt Angle is going to be in TNA" within the clause is still marketting his name and professional abilities.

So it seems Angle doesn't have anything attached to him.

Is Joe the champ or something?

Also, Angle may not even have a no compete clause. Does anyone know when he signed his last contract? Also being fired might wave the clause. Just throwing out ideas really.

I'm not disputing anything about his wrestling there, I'm just wondering how he can even be on TV, in a live or taped segment, if the clause was in place.

And do you honestly think the WWE WON'T go after them if this were the case? Hell, if he DID breach the contract with the promo, they can probably stop him from appearing on TNA at least until they settle.

Matt Hardy is not Kurt Angle. If people see Matt Hardy in TNA, they'll go "who". Vince does not want to give TNA any attention they don't need. The WWE hiding behind contracts is going to lose them their "WOOO! WWE is so awesome!" fanbase, like Vermaat. They really don't want to lose those fans. They're the ones stupid enough to buy PPVs.

And I made it apparent Angle probably doesn't have a no-compete clause. But if he did, I wouldn't be scared if I were Angle.

TNA WRESTLING MAKES TWO MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
Signs Kurt Angle
iMPACT! Moves To 9 PM on Spike TV Starting Thursday, November 16

Nashville, TN, September 24, 2006 – Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling announced today that Olympic gold medalist and pro wrestling megastar Kurt Angle has signed exclusively with the company. It was also announced that TNA iMPACT! will move to 9:00 PM ET/PT Thursdays on Spike TV starting November 16.

“This has been a huge week in our company’s history,” said Dixie Carter, president of TNA Entertainment, LLC. “The signing of Kurt Angle and the move of iMPACT! to 9 PM are both significant benchmarks in the growth of TNA. The history of pro wrestling is marked with events that change the landscape of the industry and I believe that this week will be viewed in that context.”

Angle, a 2-time NCAA Division I champion and a 3-time NCAA Division I All-American, capped off his illustrious amateur career by winning a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympics, competing with two cracked vertebrae, two herniated disks and four pulled muscles.

On November 14, 1999, Angle made his on-screen debut with the World Wrestling Federation. Since then, this 5-time WWE World Champion has held every major championship belt in WWF/E. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2003.

“Kurt is considered the greatest wrestler in professional wrestling,” added Carter. “His in-ring ability is matched only by his leadership and attitude. We are thrilled Kurt is joining the TNA family and we look forward to a long, successful relationship.”

“Being with TNA feels like I found my home,” Kurt Angle commented. “TNA will be the most watched show on cable TV – it’s just a matter of time. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love.”

TNA also announced it will premiere in primetime on Spike TV starting Thursday, November 16, kicking-off with a two-hour extravaganza from 9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT to celebrate the move. The following Thursday, TNA can be seen in its regularly scheduled timeslot (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), with encores continuing to telecast on Saturdays (11:00 PM – Midnight, ET/PT).

“We’ve been impressed by TNA’s growth and the acquisition of Kurt Angle today continues to show us that wrestling fans, as well as professional wrestlers, know that TNA is the place to be and now primetime on Spike TV is the place for them to be,” says Kevin Kay, General Manager of Spike TV.

After twenty telecasts in the Thursday 11 PM ET/PT time slot, TNA iMPACT! is averaging a 1.0 HH rating, with a 1.1 in M18-49, a 1.3 in M18-34 and an average audience of 1.1 million viewers. Compared to YAGO in that timeslot, TNA is up +137% in HH, +211% in M18-49, +244% in M18-34 and +157% in average audience. Among ad-supported cable channels in the time period (11:00 PM – Midnight, ET/PT), Spike ranks #1 in M18-49, #1 in M25-34, and #2 in M18-34. (All ratings reflect Most Current viewing levels)

The new wrestling alternative, TNA delivers a distinct brand of high-risk, athletic entertainment. TNA’s roster includes new, fresh talent like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Monty Brown and recognizable stars such as Sting, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Team 3D, and others. TNA features the innovative six-sided ring and the high-flying “X Division,” as well as concept matches such as “Ultimate X,” “King of the Mountain,” and “Six Sides of Steel.”

I really don't think he has a clause. I doubt TNA would risk it, and would just have him rest if this were the case. But yeah, there are probably ways around such things, as thorough as the WWE is. Being Kurt fucking Angle, the biggest star in professional wrestling today helps.

At the time Matt Hardy was released from the WWE, the "You screwed Matt!" chants were overwhelming. Hell, so much so that they were what yielded Matt his job back in the WWE. The situation would've drawn the exact same kind of attention to TNA had Matt decided to breach his contract and the WWE decided to pursue legal remedy.

Because he's Jeff Jarrett. In character, Jim Cornette claimed that because if Jeff Jarrett lost the title to Samoa Joe, that wouldn't be fair to Sting.

I don't know about "exact same" hype giving Kurts status in and out of wrestling, but your point remains valid Pep.

Yeah, I agree, maybe have Joe beat Jarrett on Impact so then at Bound for Glory

NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
Joe v.s Angle

-I Quit Match-
Jarrett v.s Sting

... that would work out nicley?
