Yes, having him win the title too soon will not help him. Lately they've rushed into making new stars champions (ie Orton)
I think he should lose in the elimination chamber, but not cleanly. How about he eliminates the first two participants, and an irate heel comes back in and tears him apart costing him the match midway through. This could result in a fued. Then I think he should become a secondary champion along the line, perhaps the TV champion at wrestlemania. I dont think his first title win being the ECW title would be good for him. Its the Cshow and I think it would waste his moment. If he dominated as a TV champion and then jumped ship to Raw and became a dominant IC champion, he could then segway into the main event and be put over by guys like Shawn and HHH.
