I had a pretty damn good team going using the default formation when I last played it. I think it was something like

GK - Buffon
CB - Ayala
CB - Nesta
CB - Silvestre
DM - Vieira
DM - Gerrard
RM - Pires
LM - Zahovic (gonna sell to get Kewell in)
OMC - Totti
FC - Recoba (gonna sell to get someone else in, preferably a left footer but I dunno)
FC - Ronaldo
