I'd say because they were perceived as weaker and easier to attack, because they were women. That's bullshit in it's own right. Also, the Dixie Chicks didn't get offended by it, they shrunk and hid. Now that more people are seeing things the way they did a long time ago, they came back with a "I told you so" song. Everyone calls them brave and gives them a ton of "we're sorry awards" and life goes on. The song's ok, but not 5 grammys good, but they were owed a big apology by their peers that said nothing in their defense. |
