Nice, 7 IP 2 ERs for Pavano, only throwing 79 pitches.
A-Rod also with another home run. |

The crowd was awesome today. Every single Phillie (even the trainers and coaches) got booed, and Rollins' boos were merciless. After the error that screwed the Phils over occurred, a massive "JIMMY ROLLINS" chant broke out.
![]() But yeah, good to see the offense finally come back to form...especially in the first game this year in which our starter struggled. Burgos also worries me, especially after he hit that obvious Howard HR. But when he's on, look out. The rest of the 'pen looked excellent. Now they get to face Adam Eaton on Wednesday after a day off. |

I hope that Pavano thing was just a fluke, even so I am feeling pretty good 'bout the Sox chances since the Yankees pitching looks pretty suspect and I dunno how much they can really improve.

What exactly happened with Donnelly, he struck out Guillen and then Guillen tried to charge the mound. Did Donnelly say something or something?
Also, A-Rod is tearing the cover off the ball thus far. Still a fag though |

I know Donnelly isn't the most liked player in baseball, and I'm not trying to justify his getting caught using pine tar, but Jose Guillen has heat with other people (Pedro Martinez, Mike Scioscia), and seems to be a little bitch. |

Perez was a disgrace. Walked 4 straight and then hit a batter, giving up 3 runs. Only 2 2/3 innings
Aaron Sele NEEDS to go at least 3 or 4 innings or else the bullpen will be screwed for this 15-game stretch |

People in Minnesota are pissed because they keep scheduling the Yankees series in April when attendance isn't very high yet.

I love going to games in April and May just because of the heat factor. Or night games in the summer. I remember I went to a Yankee afternoon game in August once and sat in the upper deck and by the 2nd inning I was done.

Yeah those August day games can get beyond brutal.
Bad memories of a game vs. the Nationals in '05. Sitting out there sweating my ass off watching Kris Benson give up 6 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Luckily I stayed cause I got to see Mike Jacobs hit a HR in his first at-bat. |

It's not that bad of an argument. When you play the biggest drawing away team in one series all year, it would be preferred to play them in the summer when school is out and attendance is higher.
It is probably hard to understand for Boston fans when you have a smaller stadium and it sells out every game, but there is no chance for a team like the Twins to sell out a 50,000+ seat stadium on weekdays before summer breaks start. It is just something that gets pointed out in the newspapers because obviously when this happens the teams lose a lot of potential money. SO JUST SAYING. |

The funny thing is Twins wouldn't even sell out Fenway, last few years they have only averaged like 25,000-28,000 (just did a big project on their new stadium)
I can see the arguement for day games, but other then that I don't see anything to complain about it. They maybe they go there early because they know the weather isn't going to be a factor like in a lot of places. |

A weekday series in the second week of the season is never going to draw as well as it would in July. It is rediculous to even deny that. There are maybe three or four teams that can maintain attendance all season. Sorry, that isn't the Twins, who play in one of the biggest stadiums in the league that also happens to be one of the worst to watch a baseball game. Anyway, here is the quote.
Quote:
For the stadium, I would rather pay a sales tax and have a baseball team than have them move to Las Vegas or Portland in 2010. Also, the stadium is going to completely change the character of western Minneapolis. It is going to include a new public transit hub and is going to connect what was once a dodgy area to the area where all of the nightlife is. |
