I don't care. ECW is Vince's property now, and anyone who confuses what ECW was with anything that Vince McMahon is doing now was not even that hardcore of an ECW fan to begin with. This is a totally different promotion now, it's not ECW, it never was ECW. It has a couple of ECW guys in it and the same name. Whoopity Doo! Accept this is just McMahon taking his Last Place World Title, and using it as a gimmick because him as Champ does make some kind of interest in it. Honestly, I'd take McMahon over Lashley...

Everyone needs to stop judging things at face value. Vince is the ECW champion. Okay, on paper that statement is absurd. But in the context of what happened, where ECW was before this, and where it could go now, As well as how great this could potentially turn into with a McMahon led New Breed and turmoil between them and the disgusted Originals (essentially being one big shoot).

Everyone needs to stop complaining about the legacy and name of ECW and Vince shitting on it. It's gone and you all know that. If he's gonna use it, and feels compelled to change it, at least go all out. At least do shit like this and adress the new vision versus the old legacy. The ECW of old has been dead for 6 years other than a few reunion shows and dvd sets. The new ECW is what it is and you've all known that for a year now. I'd much rather see something like this than an uneventful sunday night heat-esque version of it.

It's just become the cool thing to say "this is a disgrace to ECW". Well, guess what, it's really not that bad. You have to understand that ECW is and has been dead. If you don't like it, don't watch but I don't think anyone should be losing sleep over it. I'm sure Dreamer, Styles and Tazz are fine with the checks. The old ECW is the original ECW and nothing's gonna change that.
I used to love ECW, but even I like this development. I like it way more than I liked ECW a few months ago. It's just a different show with 3 familiar letters tagged onto it. It doesn't take much to seperate the past from the present, so just live with it. Don't watch it if you don't want to. Nobody's being hurt here. Heyman was fine bringing ECW to Vince and collecting. And I'm sure Dreamer and Sandman are happy to have action figure royalties and Wrestlemania paychecks.

So why are all the ECW fans, (most of which probably never watched it when it was around, but think its cool and shit cuz it's underground) all bent out of shape? Does this change anything that happened originally? It's just become the 'cool' thing to hate and loathe WWECW and Vince and think you're sticking up for the good of a promotion that you probably didn't even follow until it was long dead. It's become cool to see "Vince McMahon ECW champion" and instantly use it as a vehicle to express how much of a hardcore purist you are. Congrats, you're hardcore. But they don't care and neither should you.
Also, how many who are 'disgusted' actually watched it transpire, or watch WWECW regularly? If you didn't care for it all and were disgusted a week ago, how's this change anything? If you were fed up and done with this crap a year ago why is it still a huge disgrace?

As fans of the product, we have every right to express our distaste for McMahon's blatant acts of self felatio in the forms of booking himself in main events and title matches.

ECW is most certainly dead and buried. From the very first edition of ECW on Sci-Fi, it was apparent to everyone that this "new breed" of ECW wasn't even going to show a glimmer of what the old ECW represented. Still though, the fact remains that they are using the ECW name for its lineage in wrestling history, as well as the ECW Title. And if they want their title or their brand to maintain that lineage, they need to make it mean something.

Putting the ECW Title on Vince McMahon demeans the belt and the brand itself. There are so many other guys on the roster who could have used that title run more than Vince. He's only doing it to keep himself in the limelight, since he doesn't really have a feud going on anymore. It's a pathetic grasp at the brass ring for an old man, at the cost of the ECW Title's prestige, and the intelligence of WWE fans.

It's just really, really fucking stupid.

I don't have a problem with Vince being ECW champion. I just don't get the point of ECW. It's not the same as it was and never will be, so why not just do what they're doing on ECW on a show that people watch. Originals/New Breed could have been just as good a feud on Smackdown without really invoking the ECW name and just being a faction war (something that has been missing in WWE for awhile now). I guess as long as ECW is getting ratings and turning a profit it will continue, but it seems like it's just another way of diluting the quality of the overall product to collect more dollars for the shareholders.

It would make sense if ECW was trying to capture a niche market of people that liked "hardcore" wrestling, but they're not even that. So why squander promising young talent over in ECW when they're just going to job to Cena or anyone else on Raw in the long run.

It wouldn't. But I would rather see these talents feud over something that wasn't "the legacy of ECW" or whatever the hell it is. Keep the same stables and all, They have the makings of something hot in this feud, but I just feel like since they're on the C show it won't really be as effective as if they were on Raw or SD! This is a dream world where they didn't go ahead and make a shitty one hour "ECW" show on Sci-Fi.

ECW is ass. The only reason it's bullshit to say it's a disgrace is that it's a fifth tier of a fake business.

ECW is not demeaned by Vince's presence. It was demeaned a long time ago, by Vince's checkbook, writers, and "New Breed" stars.

Seriously, if you're a fan, if you're still watching this shit, you've only yourself to blame.
