It also helps that you're looking at one selectively, and the other rather thoroughly. Previous decades get filtered in our minds.

I'm not even arguing that it's subjective, because by definition, opinions on entertainment are subjective. I don't care about that, because that's usually the cry of a moron. It's a form of stating the obvious. What I am arguing is that it's a constant process.

I can think of maybe 3 post-2000 comedy movie that I liked. I can name at least 8 from the 80's right off the bat.

It may be selective overall, which I will admit, but when it comes to movies I enjoyed, the 80's wins out.
