Rise of the silver surfer
Saw the trailer when i watched spidey and i have to say i actually think it may be quite good

Didn't really like the first one, but the surfer looks like the goods. I will actually go and watch this.

There's like 5 threads on this. Anyway, the movie looks like the first one: Something worth watching in theaters, but not worth more than the "summer popcorn flick" deal.

I do want to see it, but Invisible woman could be replaced by a cardboard cutout at a fraction of the price and twice the depth, Johnny's two lines of dialogue in the trailer are both pretty cheesy, and it sounds like they're going to screw the pooch with Galactus like they did with Doom.

It does look better. I think if they could learn from their mistakes with the first they could make this better, by producing a better storyline/villian and properly ressurecting Dr. Doom. Which seems to be what they're doing.
So yea, I have hope for this. It's not gonna be a great movie, or even as good of a comic adaptation as others, but it should be watchable on a summer day.

I just saw the movie and it wasnt as good as spiderman but it was fast paced and had a lot of action. Some of the cgi sucked in terms of mr fantastic stretching while dancing, and there wasnt that much depth to the villains. The screwed up doom again too i think. They brought him back perfectly but they disposed of him way too quickly. Galactus was a joke. I almost marked out when he was coming across saturn cuz you saw his shadow on the planet and it was the shape of his head but in reality he looked like a fucking rectum. The Team vehicle was awsome and the surfer was cool tho.

I that the movie was one giant commercial....with a storyline...

I dont think Ive seen a movie with this many product placements since that joke scene in Waynes World...

Like Reavant said...CGI on Mr. Fantastic was crappy...

The movie actually reminded me of the 3rd Spiderman and just like I was with that...I was very disapointed in this movie also...

Spoilers---

Galactus was only shown for a bit...they showed you his shadow at one point like Reavant said but then you finally see him as a giant ass cloud...WTF???...But I guess if you want to be truthful you do see up inside the cloud where you can sorta make out the outline of what is suppose to be Galactus...You can actually only see the outline of his helmet...But still...

I enjoyed it. Summer flick that knew what it wanted to be. No more no less.

I'd like to see a Surfer solo movie.

I was glad that it didnt follow the trend of most of these other movies out right now that push the 2 hour limit. It was short and sweet.

Only thing I didn't like was Galactus. I was expecting Gah Lak Tus to be honest, but eh, movie was good over-all.

Still love the McMahon Doom.

Since Doom wasn't really killed, him coming back is unsurprising. I'm hoping Galactus comes back as the enemy in the Surfer movie.

Saw it today. The story was well paced even if the action wasn't particularly gripping. There was some good character development and the handling of the Surfer and Galactus was awesome. I'm definitely checking it out again.

Does anyone have a pic of Galactus from the movie?

I had a dream a few nights ago about Galactus (the big storm thing up in the sky) coming down to Earth. I was Superman and I had to throw a glass bottle up at it. (Dreams that don't make sense )

Anyway, I really wanna see what this storm looks like as I imagine it being huge and evil looking, but can't find a pic anywhere. Rep to anyone who has one.

God am I the only one who thought this sucked?

Galactus was a fucking cloud. Come on. The coolest part of the whole movie was in the teaser, in full, months ago. And Dr. Doom was still absolutly terrible. Nothing against McMahon as an actor, but he's just wrong for the part. He was better in this one, but he still seemed more like the sniveling weasal type rather than the imposing tyrant that Dr. Doom is supposed to be,

As for Galactus, for what it was, it was well done. Effects looked nice and all. But come on. Just fucking show us him. They show the outline of his helmet like twice, and they can't even give us a glimpse of the actual entity? Come on.

The General's subplot was shoehorned in. As was a lot of the Doom subplot. Surder was great, but a little too cold. Remember, it's his human-like passions that both made him the Surfer and made him defy Galactus.

Galactus was awesome. I don't care that we didn't see him. He wasn't the main villain, he was a plot device.

I don't deny that the Galactus effects were nice looking. But why not show us him?

Also, lol at all the product placement. I expect a degree of it in a lot of movies, but Dodge seats in the Fantasticar? Fuck off.
