Well from what I've gathered, no. The difference between the zapper and the blaster seems to be the zapper looks like a sub-machine gun and the blaster looks like a shotgun. Otherwise they are both just shells to fit the Wii-mote and Nunchuk onto.

I think Funk just means they're different shells, which they are.
