It has a shitload of names, but pretty much all have been linked to steroids before this whole report. At least from what I've seen, not many new names or whatever

I dunno. The only one that really irks me is Pettitte. There was a lot of Yankees players but none that really annoyed me like Pettittes name. Justice, Knoblauch, Villone, Stanton I could care less about.
Clemens career is now with Bonds' really. Ridiculous that the best hitter and best pitcher of that era are both involved with steroids. |

I guess Pettitte got involved when rehabbing his elbow. I dunno, it doesn't make it right or better in any way but it makes me feel a little better about the situation. Still no excuse or anything obviously and doesn't make it an okay thing to do but I guess I'd rather hear that then just taking it for the sake of taking it.

VEL why would you consider Kevin Brown a yankee at all before say, a Ranger or a Dodger? Not to mention the Marlins or Padres, both of whom he WS'd it up with
Its like look at the list of players, find every guy who's played for the Sox or Yankee's and go OMFG LOOK The bigger issue here, that half the damn MLB roster has juiced, and that the MLB has no credibility left at all seems to have slipped some people's minds. |

The thing with all the guys that played for New York is that is where Radomski or whatever had his business. And a big portion of the guys named in this report are from Radomski. So when the guy giving all the information is based in NY and operates out of NY you should kinda expect a lot of NY players to be on it.

I guess so.
Anyway yeah, the MLB is a joke, I mean we all knew that a few years ago now but really this is just an official declaration of how pathetic it is. |

I know you were being facetious, but probably has a lot to do with it. Roger Clemens is just as big of an asshole as Barry Bonds is, and he's been accused of the same exact stuff as Bonds, but I doubt they are going to ride his ass to the extent that they have been riding Bonds for the last five years.

It's interesting to note how many players that were key parts of yankees championship teams may have been juicing at the same time. I find it interesting Selig wants to take action on these players... I didn't think it was a rule until recently... Also, if some can be showed they started taking after an injury and stopped once healed then that would be a medicle use and I'd be ok with it. |

Pretty big blow for baseball, huh?
I pretty much got turned off baseball after that strike in 94, so I'm not too knowledgeable about all of this, but wow. So many guys juicing, you'd think it was wrestling. The way I see it, all those guys using when there was no rule against it should have asterisks next to any records they set. Just that, no real punishment. Guys using after the rule came into effect should get mad fines and suspensions and asterisks and whatever else they do to cheaters. |

lol Canseco going on about how they need to do more investigating because A-Rod is guilty.
If Canseco wants A-Rod guilty he better just get evidence himself cause A-Rod is breaking the record in 4-5 years. And even then, its pretty obvious that after this report baseball is gonna want A-Rod to take the record away from Barroid and give a "clean" image to the game...especially since he's a Yank. |

Now, I'm a Yankee fan, and I'm not necessarily defending steroid use but the source material was straight out of NYC, so of course a lot of Yankees were named. I'm sure there were just as many players on other teams juicing.

couple of things:
I'm hearing both sides of opinions on this everywhere. I'm hearing some HOF voters will not vote for anyone who has been accused of taking steroids and some see it as an era we're in, so they assume most guys have used some type of drug and the issue becomes null an void. Then I'm hearing there are a lot of players pissed off and figure these guys have taken money out of thier pockets because they have used. Other players don't really care. And those other players may take drugs themselves...who knows. A couple of guys made the point that the drug issue will never end because every year a new drug will come out that baseball or whatever sport won't be able to detect and we start all over again. For me personally, I dunno what they would do anymore. You're never going to stop guys from finding illegal ways to gain a competitive advantage. At this point I almost want to say legalize everything so thier won't be any secrets anymore. It's such a cloak and dagger kind of thing filled with "shhhh don't tell anybody about this" It's stupid. Someone made a good point yesterday. I forget who it was there lots of guys made good points. And when I say "guys" I mean like the sports writers and such. He said some athletes use the stuff to just help them keep thier job and provide for thier family. It's either take the stuff and increase your skill, whether it be healing faster, more muscle, running faster, or don't take it and be gone. There's so many sides of the argument and so many ways you could look at things. It's tough to really take one side here. |

In the Olympics, if you are caught cheating the don't just put an asterisks by your name in the record books, they wipe the record books of your name entirely. Add that to the 2 year banning for a first offence and you can see that if you ever wanted to really clean up baseball, then you need to follow the route of the IOC.

Clemens' career makes so much sense now. Boston didn't want him because they thought his career was declining, so he goes to Toronto and becomes a great pitcher again. Well now we know why.

I'd be really surprised if A-Rod actually juiced. Doesn't make any sense to me since his numbers have been consistent throughout his career, given a few seasons where he hit between 30-40 homeruns. I don't think the difference between his great seasons and those indicate that he's taken substances because it seems like he had off seasons. I would too if I got booed for hitting .280 and 35 HR.
