Agreed. Where they got this idea and why is a question I've already spent entirely too much time wondering, thus is time I'll never get back.

Yeah, I've got close to 80 Stars myself and have attempted the final battle with Bowser twice. It's a 3 stage battle and I think I've managed to hit him once.
