Deja vu? Billy Corgan and... ROH?
Nah, not quite.... At least I hope we don't see Billy Corgan show up and smash a guitar over Chris Hero's head.... Anywho
ROH & Smashing Pumpkins Reach Partnership Wednesday, January 16, 2008 Ring Of Honor is pleased to announced that it has reached a partnership with Grammy award winning artists The Smashing Pumpkins for a cross promotion. "Doomsday Clock" off The Smashing Pumpkins' latest album "Zeitgeist" will be prominently featured on the ROH "Undeniable" pay-per-view. "Undeniable" will debut on January 18th with replays throughout the rest of January on iN DEMAND, The DISH Network and TVN cable systems. In addition, the melodic tones of "Doomsday Clock" provide the backdrop for an exclusive ROH video released by The Smashing Pumpkins. Check out the action of ROH at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmp1HaBcRws You can also read the news piece at SmashingPumpkins.com and access the video at: http://www.smashingpumpkins.com/news_2924 "As a long time fan of Ring of Honor, I am thrilled that our song 'Doomsday Clock' has been chosen to be the theme music for the newest PPV," Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan said. "To me, the highlight video captures the intensity, passion, and stark ambition that is at the core of this groundbreaking promotion, as they continue to set new standards of what is still possible in the impossible." Wow, RoH has signed when a way past their prime band? Good for them. Maybe they can sign Tool in 10 years when they come out with a new lackluster album too.

Being a huge ROH fan, when I read this yesterday I was excited because now they actually have a theme song instead of just beats and sounds as the background of introduction vids/prematch hype vids. Good for ROH!

It's not Earth-shattering or anything, but it is another step in the right direction for ROH

It'll help ROH if some big news media covered it, but its only going to be a blip on internet wrestling forums.

Well ROH will go under in a year or two.
Remember the last wrestling promotion Corgan worked with? |

Nah, the chances of ROH going down within the next two years are very slim. They're making smart decisions, and are gaining steam. I could see them going under within 5, but that's probably going to happen when they've expanded as far as they can. At that point, they'll probably try to make the leap to something bigger (ala cable tv, like ECW) and ultimately fail.

They are one step ahead of TNA, at least they have a proper band doing their music.
Not that I’d wish to ever doubt the pulling power of Macho Man rapping and that one time they got Fozzy to do a song so they could say, ‘Look Jericho is on TNA……sort off’ There’s no negative to this, so good promotion work on the side of TNA |

Another thing, Pumpkins aren't wrestling music. Pumpkins are sad, is in your dark room while writing bad poems about how sad you are music. You need butt rock about fightin' drinkin' and being angry, not Meloncholy and the Infinite Sadness.
I'm just saying they should have signed like Antherax. |

ECW fit in with the hardcore rock. I imagine if ROH makes it big, they have Dashboard confessionals or some other lame band do their music. |
