Just got back. Had a blast at the show.
Flair/MVP was a good opener, of course Flair was way over. JBL/Jericho went on a bit too long, and should have gotten to the brawling a bit earlier. Did its job though. Edge/Rey was an awesome match with a great finish. Edge was extremely over, and it was about 75/25 Edge. Hardy/Orton had a big match feel to it, and I really enjoyed it. Crowd seemed to be into both Orton and Hardy, and some people had a tough time making up their minds. Good match though. The Rumble match itself was an amazing match to watch live. It was just awesome. Taker/HBK being one and two got the crowd immediately into it of course. Cena coming out 30th was a huge shocker, and I was in disbelief just saying "Holy Shit." Great surprise though, shocking the hell out of MSG (in a bad way for most though). 4 of my friends went with me, so we each picked out 6 numbers out of a hat and drew between numbers 1-30. Of course, the winning number wins the money. Drawing Taker, I thought I won. Then I drew HHH, thought I won. Then #30 comes out for my friend Dave, and the money is history...aw well. Overall, I just had a very very fun time |

A moment of victory for me...
Approximately one year ago on jan 22nd i stopped watching WWE programing after a truly annoying ass monday night raw for the 804943080 time.
as the year passed i read results here and i noticed not much was changing but for a while, it seemed like there may have been an uplifiting coming i didnt know about because i didnt watch the show in over a year, and this was the one PPV where i truly could have been swerved back into watching depending on results......seriously. Come to find out, i just saved forty bucks. Kinda cool |

Love him or hate him, the TRUTH of the matter is that Cena draws the MOST crowd reaction out of ALL the wrestlers right now (when facing top-tier opponents) Period. This is a LOT different than the dreaded "X-Pac heat" (which many posters on here accuse Cena of garnering). YES - "boring" chants were evident when Cena faced guys like Umaga and Khali....but guess what? Even The Rock would get 'boring' chants against opponents like that! p.s. As far as Jeff Hardy goes, I actually back the WWE's decision here. As hot as Jeff is right now, I think it would serve him better if he defeated a few more top-tier opponents (which would then further establish him as a main-event guy). There is a danger in pushing a guy too fast (i.e. Rey Mysterio). Let Jeff feud with the likes of Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, etc. Have Hardy go OVER those guys. In the Summer, THEN you can have Hardy win the title. Just my opinion. |

Agreed, it was a major swerve, it’s moments like that, which make me love wrestling. I thought the show was alright, I don’t feel ripped off. Hardy really stepped up to the plate and has now elevated himself to the next level, have him win the MITB and got for a title again in the summer (I’m thinking Smackdown as Cena/Orton will probably take up most of this year) It makes sense for Cena to take the win, he has unfinished business with Orton, as that feud never ended This also means we might not see HHH in a title match at mania!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! I’m sensing a tease for HBK/Taker at mania, which would be too ridiculous for words, that could quite easily be match of the decade Overall, solid show, Rey dropped the ball, but the rest of it was quite entertaining |

Well, now that I've had time to sleep and get over the initial shock of Cena winning...here's my analysis:
Well, obviously, Cena winning makes a LOT of sense. Like it or not, he does draw, I guess my anger just comes from his constant overcoming of the odds no matter what. There's really only so far they can go with that schtick...I mean once he wins the title at WM, what else is left? Him turning heel after winning the belt would be the clear best way to freshen everything up and lead to all new feuds, particularly one against Jeff Hardy (who would replace Cena as the little kids/girls' favorite). Cena can trash the fans and say he never needed them, he can even point out that most of the crowd boos him anyway so they can fuck off, classic heel shit. It'll never happen, because I really think they want Cena to get to Hogan invincible status...but I can dream. Speaking of Hardy...I dunno, unless they have a MITB win at WM in store, I see him being stuck out of the main event loop unless he were to go to Smackdown or ECW. They did a good job of making him look legit, but I think the match ending was great symbolism...worked his ass off only to get put to a dead halt by a move out of nowhere. It puts Orton over though, so kudos. Overall, I give WWE credit. I said I wanted a surprise winner, and I certainly got it...the Rumble match itself just felt too thrown together as I've said, but still a good job of shocking everyone. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Cena wasn't injured at ALL. I bet he just took the time off to film his latest film, and he just wore a sling when out in public...awesome swerve there, though it dashes my dreams of Cena not headlining WM. |

Fuck, so all that hype only for cena to win the rumble? Bullshit. glad i didnt buy the ppv, and i may not bother withb wrestlemania as it'll be back to business as usual with cena winning. I dont really see anything that would've been worth ordering this ppv other than 'oh wow look its super cena'.

Cena vs Undertaker at WM would be very interesting, if they can pull it off.

Well. After a night of sleeping and blowing off steam, here's what I think of last night match by match.
Flair vs. MVP was a alright opener. Had a feeling the show would have some bumps along the line when Robinson fucked up that three count. Unless that was scripted. Flair lives another day. End of story. JBL vs. Jericho. This could have gone either way cause it kinda was a bad mismatch between the two. Kinda interested to see where both men go from here. Really wasn't a big fan of this feud. Edge vs. Rey. Rey gotta stop with the character crap at PPVs and hit the gym. Wasn't really that great out there this time around. Really stupid having edge fall into like three 619s in the match. Not a bad ending. Put Rey in another fued now! Orton vs. Jeff Hardy. Crowd was hot for this. Honestly with all these high flying moves Jeff was bringing out (most of them missed their mark), I had him pegged walking out with this. But I think Jeff losing was good for him. Getting over HHH may get you there, but I don't see him "there" yet. Maybe throw him in one or two more big fueds, I can see a nasty Hardy Bros. fued down the road, and something with an upper card name, then hand him over the belt around mid-year. Not a bad out of nowhere RKO for the win. The Royal Rumble. We went into this match knowing 24 names and 6 unknowns. Undertaker and Michaels starting it out took us all by surprise (one of many). However, everyone was getting thrown out way to fast. Let them hang around, chew up some clock time, then make your exit. I could care less about the structual integrity of the ring. Hornswaggle was chilling under the ring, I could see it falling on him. Pretty shocked when Superfly hit the ring. Must be hurtin' for cash. Piper I thought I would not ever see again. I thought that cancer scare would be the end of him, but somehow, he made his way back and had his shtick with Snuka. Better start ordering some Nutrisystem. And so we count down to #30. The IWC had either The Big Show, Ron Killings, Chris Harris, or the other guy whose name I can't think of at this time coming down. Would have marked out to see him come down and throw people in the audience, and maybe go toe to toe with Khali. But he got tossed early. But low and behold John Cena, gathering the strength of children and women screaming inside the Garden, makes his shocking return. Was it the work of god? Or could it have been his body? Is it a new form of rehab the medical community does not even know about? How could a man with an injury that could keep a man out 6 months to a year make a grand return in only 3? OR, was it even an injury to begin with? Anyway, we're back to the original script yet again. Cena throws HHH over to win the Rumble. I'm only left with this question still buzzing in my mind ever since Cena beat Trips at 'Mania. It wasn't a bad show. Just got killed at the end when "he" came back. Would have paid $20 instead of $40 just for that instead. |

Im thinking this cena injury crap was aload of bs to start with, just an excuse to keep him from having to job to orton and now he'll go over at wm as strong as ever and we'll see a year long title reign.

I don't think the injury was a hoax, but they MUST have exaggerated the severity from day one.
If it WAS a hoax, as well as being a stroke of genius in a day and age of lacklustre by-the-numbers booking, WWE also owes a refund to everyone who purchased No Mercy on the promise of a Cena-Orton Last Man Standing match prior to the "injury". |

Yeah its more likely the time he would be out for was exaggerated in order to have this surprise at the rumble.

If ANYONE from the WWE is reading this right now, my suggestion is to keep Cena EXACTLY the way he is! (even if it means 95%+ people hating Cena). With Cena technically being a face (but being booed like a heel), Cena also has a wider variety of opponents to feud against. |

If Cena feuds against crap like Khali (or fights non-main-event guys...like Umaga.....or guys that he's feuded with 1,000,000,000 times....like Edge), then the 'desired heat' will turn into 'boring' chants. |

Nah it was the right result, it makes Orton look stronger now as we move closer to wrestlemania. And the wwe lacks a top heel atm so they needed to do that, i would even have him beat cena at wm just for the shock value of it.

talk about slapping the excitement out of everyone on here
Hardy gets jobbed clean and Cena comes back early to win the rumble. Kinda funny actually. They completely blew a good thing, again. Jeff Hardy's title push is the biggest missed oppurtunity since Jericho returning, which was the biggest missed oppurtunity since Kennedy being the bastard child, which was the biggest missed oppurtunity since something that probably came up a month or two before and so on. Why do you people keep ordering the ppvs I will never understand |

So Hardy beats HHH clean and then Orton beats Hardy clean
Where's the logic in that? HHH jobbed himself out to Hardy for no reason. He was better off just losing to Orton and saving all this for a later time. |

Yeah, just downloaded the show and I'm glad I did not pay for this pay per view.
-I loved the Flair versus M.V.P. match. -Thought it was silly to continue the Y2J-JBL feud and think Jericho should have won the match to end the feud. -Not a big fan of the Edge-Mysterio match. -I never really allowed myself to get into the Orton-Hardy match because if I hyped myself all up for a Hardy win and then he just goes on to lose, I would be thoroughly disappointed. I'm still disappointed and I think the Orton win left a damper on watching the rest of the show. -Most interesting part of the Rumble was the HBK-Undertaker potential WrestleMania match, which would be sick! Cena returns... I was surprized for a second and then I stopped caring. And I got 2/4 on tipsters for my Final Four choices in Kane & Triple H which was cool. |
