I thought HD-DVD was dead right out of the gate. In fact, I honestly couldn't believe how many companies were backing it in the first place; The statistics on the different formats clearly showed Blu-ray to be the superior format, albeit more expensive. And with more than double the storage space it is obvious Blu-ray would have lasted longer anyways as the need for more space increases in the future.

Well, you just covered one of the big points: Price.

I mean, do you honestly think we always get the superior format?
