Or, you can make the character slightly different, and just use this Kane as kind of the unmasked Kane, in a mask, if that makes sense. Kind of like the muzzle idea someone had. Kane could remove the mask when he gets pissed off during matches, and use it to really turn on the psycho-killer angle. Kane's a pretty good talker, so using him in a talking role would be using him to the best of his abilities, but talking with the mask is a bit awkward. So yeah, my suggestion: Kane burns his face, then becomes a new Masked Kane, who is still as demented as unmasked Kane. Eventually there comes a time (probably when The Undertaker confronts him, and when his burns heal in kayfabe), where he removes the mask, and then becomes two-sides of Kane. There's the Kane in the mask that does not feel pain; the remorseless machine...and there's Kane when he takes off the mask, who is a lot less unpredictable and less likely to stop with his onslaught.
