Because the entire thing is a just a giant Daft Punk sample and it gets labeled as a Kanye West song or "Kanye West featuring Daft Punk," also I fucking hate Kanye West for just being a pretentious hype-machine

No frills, loadsa samples and catchy hooks...I dunno, I don't think he pulls any punches or tries to be something he's not. He's hardly my favourite artist and I wouldn't buy one of his albums but still, very listenable imo

Kanye's first two cds are excellent. His third was mediocre. Still, he's one of the most talented rappers going today.

Most of the good in that song is from Daft Punk, but his shit-eating fanbase have no idea who "Kanye West's DJs" actually are. The video's just a big "homage" to Akira, which again, his fanbase doesn't generally understand because--hold onto something:

He plays it off like he's catering to multiple crowds, but those crowds don't mix. People that get the references and grasp the sampling don't like Kanye West, and visa versa. The result is that Kanye West gets a bunch of free "inspiration" and the people that are buying his CDs just think he's some sort of genius. He's not even that great of a rapper. He's alright, I guess, compared to alot of radio rappers, but it's not like that's saying much. The fact is that he's quickly turning into the same "gimmick rapper" type that everybody keeps defending him as not being.

It would help if he'd shut the fuck up once in a while.

just cuz Kanye is one of the biggest artists out right now and he's better than your favorite artist doesn't mean you have to hate. And it's not entirely a Draft Punk sample. He put synths and other instrument over it. Unless you know how the process went to make that song you really have no reason to say its one big Draft Punk sample. Almost all of his songs are sampled but do you hear people bitching about that? No. Why? because his single finally got so big that it gives people like you a reason to hate.
