I've been having trouble playing certain videos
for example:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F9KG8N4G I downloaded this and when I went to play it I only had the audio. So I wen to another forum and downloaded another vid and i had the same problem. Eventually I found some I could download (for example: http://theditch.biz/DestroyervsBaba03-05-1969.wmv.) Now I'm assuming it's something to do with the fact the that the ones I'm having issues with are avi files. Which probably means there's an issue with my winrar settings, but I honestly don't know where to begin with fixing it. ![]() |

Try downloading any codecs?
http://www.cccp-project.net/ Give that a try if you haven't done so already. |

Just use VLC media player. Comes with codecs for pretty much everything you'll need.

FYI
I use a (free) program called "G-Spot" for any files I have no video. It's only a small file and easy to use. Just select the file you have no video for and it will tell you the exact Codec you need to download. Google the codec, download and hey presto you can watch your video. Warning: Lately I have noticed a few video downloads that require specific "free codecs" to work. When you download these "codecs" and install them you get a load of viruses e.g. every 5 minutes Internet Explorer opens automatically with ads etc. |

VLC is the answer. If it doesn't play in VLC, it probably wasn't meant to be seen.

OK. That's two of you now who have recommended VLC.
Tell me more, 'cause I've never heard of VLC before. I thought I was pretty up-to-date. Is it a free program or do I have to |

It's free. Just google VLC. Will play pretty much any video format that exists. I have used it for years now. It is great.
