Curt Schilling just announced on local radio he's having surgery on Monday, there is no chance he'll play this year and a really good chance he's "thrown his last pitch", that he won't be ready to even try and pitch until after the all-star break next year.

He said he'll still have the fire, but even after the surgery not sure of the body will have it left.

it's Gaston by the way, and this is such a despartion move by J.P, coverign up that he got swept by Gord Ash, almost got no hit by Dave Bush, got dinged by a three run homer by Reed Johnson, by shut out by Ted Lilly and made himself out to be an ass by Adam Dunn.

Halladay got hit in the head last night. MAn. That guy can't get a break... well actully he can, as in broken bones. He's been hit by line drives 2-3 times seriously in his career. Best pitcher in baseball, but so much bad luck.

I was sure I read (or saw) before that the pitcher, even if he's ambidextrous cannot change pitching hands once he's on the mound and declares his stance. Reading another article this AM, the batter and pitcher kept swapping around their stance (7 times?) until the ump decided it was the batter that had to declare his stance.
It'll be interesting to see what MLB rules, as they are now looking into it.

Damn. I'm going to Tuesday's Mets/M's game as part of the 7 Pack I got......I heard that Santana and Felix would be facing off and marked out cause I assumed there was a day off Monday.

Unfortunately there isn't, so I'll be seeing Ollie Perez vs. RA Dickey instead. Been awhile since I've seen a high scoring game at Shea.

Josh Hamilton has a chance to have 100 RBI by the All Star break. I got to see him play in person last night which is something that I really wanted to do this year. Too bad I left the tickets in my car but some nice man gave me a seat three rows up from first base line but I had to buy a $20 ticket for my friend (cheapest ticket available Nats don't have any grandstand seats for sale on gameday, come on) so we ended up sitting in our normal seats anyway

Oh yeah and the granny came after a 2-out error by Wright to load the bases. I swear its like impossible to not give up a run if you have a 2-out error...its like a curse hits your team.
